Job Description
The role holder will lead a cross-bank BBB team which is responsible for the successful launch and delivery of this H2G pilot to the market and will lead responsibility for the implementation of the counter-party selection process, whereby BBB will choose external counter-parties to work with us on this pilot. Based upon and subject to the findings from the pilot, design, build and deliver a full national roll-out.



Main responsibilities but not limited to:

Project lead across the organization, Help to Grow team (which includes colleagues from our legal, finance, risk, strategy, communications) for the successful launch and implementation of the Help to Grow pilot

Lead responsibility for the selection of appropriate external counter-parties to participate in the Help to Grow pilot. This will include:

Review and assess counter-party proposals against the pilot’s objectives and investment criteria;

Negotiate commercial terms with counter-parties;

Prepare and present investment papers to our Investment Committee;

Detailed due diligence;

Legal completion

Portfolio monitoring/control to ensure the pilot’s performance is in line with the Bank’s expectations. Reporting of pilot performance.

Relationship management of external counter-parties, other stakeholders and suppliers

Work cross bank with colleagues on the design, build and launch of a potential successor scheme to the Help to Grow pilot, including lead responsibility for the selection of additional counter-parties

Desired Skills and Experience
The role will be suitable for an individual with senior level commercial and/or leveraged finance experience, most likely from within a high street bank and/or debt fund environment. Prior project management and/or securitization experience would be an advantage but is not essential.



Person Specification (Qualifications, skills and competencies required for the role. All are essential, unless otherwise stated)

Professional qualification in a finance related field (banking, corporate finance, investment management, accountancy or similar)

Senior level SME lending and/or structured finance background, within a high street banking or fund management environment

Detailed understanding and practical experience of all aspects of financial and investment analysis, including due diligence and negotiations through to deal completion

Project management and/or securitization experience is desirable but not essential

Financial modelling experience desirable but not essential

Evidence of portfolio monitoring/control and reporting experience

Evidence of senior-level commercial negotiating skills

Evidence of strong communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills

Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and effectively across an organisation

Evidence of excellent organization/time management skills of self and others

Evidence of ability to use initiative and make sound judgements
