Job Description:
We are looking to recruit a candidate at Director level with skills to support our growth strategy in the Banking Sector, and in particular around IFRS 9) but to also to potentially work in other sectors and across other financial management capability offerings. The successful candidate will also be required to work on other engagements outside the IFRS 9 space as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Financial Management practice is a priority area for significant and strategic growth and the team works with leading Investment and Retail Banks, focussing on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their Finance & Risk functions. In today’s environment, these functions must demonstrate their value to the business by producing insightful reports, managing risk, reducing costs and maintaining financial controls.

The key drivers of change for our Banking clients are Regulatory reform, Cost Reduction and Risk Transformation. Our go to market approach is business-focused and our solutions are developed around client issues.

It is critical candidates are willing to lead quality client delivery, business development and development of innovative offerings and thought leadership to challenge our clients thinking in this area. They also need to help drive a sales pipeline and build a team to help deliver engagements.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Can Demonstrate An Exceptional Track Record Of

Engagement delivery: leading the delivery of highly complex programmes (in particular IFRS 9) and large projects drawing in multiple parts of the firm, including planning, managing and executing the delivery of engagements or projects, including responsibility for the review and quality assurance of deliverables
Engagement delivery: Driving KPMG’s IFRS 9 proposition / offering, and leading responses to IFRS 9 client RFPs, with a primary focus on financial services (in particular banking clients) but also potentially within other industries;
Providing subject matter expertise in: operational implications of regulatory and accounting change, in particular IFRS 9( which includes impact on data & technology, processes/controls/governance and people;
Building strong and lasting client relationships through excellent interpersonal skills
Business development: lead business development initiatives including co-ordinating bid proposal and contract/commercial management
Business development: creating and growing revenue from deep cross sector and technical knowledge. Leading on client relationship development; business development and bid management
Risk management: identifying and managing risks, whilst maximising profitability and ensuring the Firm's frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively
Practice development: owning proposition development that is key to scaling the business. Ensures dissemination of own expertise throughout the team
Practice development: taking the lead role in the design and development of thought leadership papers and innovative solutions
People development: identifying team member development needs and accelerating development with particular emphasis on coaching and skills transfer Writing quality client reports including findings and recommendations

Banking / IFRS9 Skills Including

Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and its impact on Banking operating models, across people, process, technology and data
Design / build / implement IFRS 9 target operating models
Driving KPMG’s IFRS 9 proposition/offerings, and leading the responses to client Requests for Proposals (‘RFP’), with a primary focus on financial services, but also potentially with other industries.
Defining requirements for new solutions and assets to support the IFRS 9 proposition

Experience In a Number Of The Following Areas

Extensive experience working in the Financial Services industry, with a focus on banking being essential;
Finance function transformations;
Accounting and regulatory change programmes;
Finance function target operating model development and implementation;
Experience of proposal shaping, writing and presenting to clients;
Experience of large scale project and programme management/change management;
Implementation experience;
Experience in internal practice development; and Business development/sales experience essential.
