Job Description:
As Director, Panasonic Technical Services you will be a key business leader in the Panasonic Technical Services organization in Europe with a focus on ensuring the execution of Maintenance operational processes to meet contractual obligations and obtain optimum efficiency. Develop initiatives to meet or exceed performance expectations and budgeting requirements at each operational location while ensuring all activities are in compliance with government legislation and regulations and current company standards and policies. Develop and manage the business interests of Panasonic Avionics and PTS in the region which includes coordinating with the various Marketing, Engineering and other Panasonic groups in the region. Oversee Service Program Management for the delivery and financial performance of maintenance contracts.
As Director, Repair Operations your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Strategic
Develop strategic plans and ensures implementation to maintain company standards of performance, organization and safety through process development and lean manufacturing principles.
Develops Regional strategic initiatives ensuring effective communication and interaction of Maintenance staff internally within Panasonic Avionics and with customers and suppliers, reinforcing the Company’s reputation as the leading provider of maintenance service in the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) industry.
Lead Regional PTS Operations Managers and their staff in creating strategic plans and managing execution of each operational site’s requirements and commitments while striving to ensure each site is operating within their budgetary requirements.
Operational
Develop and manage the Regional PTS Business plan which includes strategies and operational goals.
Develop global requirements for capital equipment acquisitions as needed to meet organization objectives.
Assesses current and future business opportunities in the assigned Region and communicates same for executive management review.
Actively pursue new PTS business activities and participate in regional negotiations to acquire new business.
Determines optimum service locations, offerings, licensing requirements, and capacities in the assigned Region.
Support regional marketing and sales initiatives.
Maintains a full understanding of each operational site's contractual requirements and internal company commitments, and ensures compliance.
Assesses and recommends the improvement and automation of business related metrics and processes
Develop performance requirements among the team to consistently work towards enhancing Panasonic Avionics reputation among customers and suppliers.
Manages Service Program Managers and oversees all “third party” maintenance organizations to ensure service agreements are being met.
Compliance
Directs all maintenance activities in the assigned Region in accordance with EASA/CAA/FAA regulations.
Ensures operational sites in the Region are compliant with all regulatory requirements and ensuring corrective action is taken if out of compliance.
Participates in customer and EASA/CAA/FAA audits as required.
Ensures all maintenance sites are maintaining quality standards and complying with Health and Safety legislation.
Supervisory
Hire, train, supervise, and appraise direct reports.
Lead management staff to implement department objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have a Bachelors’ Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with extensive experience managing a maintenance organization in an airline or similar Maintenance Service organization. In addition you will have proven line management experience and must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of EASA/FAA regulations with demonstrable knowledge of European, US and International aircraft repair and maintenance practices. In-Flight Entertainment experience in preferred.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a geographically dispersed maintenance organization. You must also be able to demonstrate experience with contract negotiations and fulfillment of contract obligations.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to train and motivate employees across different locations and cultures, have highly developed team building and problem solving skills and have the ability to organize and direct teams to meet objectives.
The successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain excellent working relationship with customers and internal stakeholders in order to smoothly and effectively address customer needs. There will be a requirement to travel approximately 50% of your time.
