You will report to the Senior Director of International Finance (SDIF) within this dynamic and growing online retailer, with exposure to all areas of the finance function. You will be involved in everything from day to day financial transactions, to commercial finance support of the UK and Australian Country Managers and the global senior finance team.

With key colleagues in the US, Germany, Australia and the UK, strong communication skills are critical to your success in this role. The Finance Director will manage the London based UK/AU team of financial controller, management accountant and finance assistant.
Your Responsibilities:
Business and Financial strategy and planning
· Work closely with the Country Managers (UK and AU) and SDIF to ensure key Financial and Business KPI’s are met
· Ensure, in close cooperation with the Country Managers and SDIF, that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the company’s financial decision making.
· Contribute to the preparation of and ensure the appropriateness of the key assumptions included in the company’s strategic, financial and annual budget proposals
· Provide sound financial advice to UK/AU management teams, and advise key personnel on major financial issues that arise
Reporting, Accounting, Audit and Compliance
· Managing and protecting the Company’s financial and capital assets
· Ensure consistency and quality of judgements and financial reporting
· Financial monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of accounting policies, systems and processes involved
· Reporting and accounting as per UK & US regulatory and legal requirements including taxation (Corporate, VAT, Payroll), annual reports and accounts
· Provide effective inter-company financial management and fulfil inter-company reporting requirements
· Monthly delivery of management accounts
· Annual delivery of audited financial accounts
· Manage cash flow
· Manage relationship with UK bankers and auditors
Royalties
· Manage all royalty costs colleagues on margin improvement strategies
· Monitor and process all UK publisher payments and ensure all external payment and reporting deadlines are met
· Manage all UK publisher payments on behalf of International stores (US/DE/FR) and handle the reporting and reconciliation and cross charging of all related balances
· Manage publisher advances/guarantees and appropriate amortisation in the accounts
Business Analysis
· Develop an in-depth understanding of the data sources that drive key business decisions
· Take an active role in identifying key business unit metrics and communicating them in an effective manor
· Partner with business owners in evaluating new initiatives and analysing existing performance
· Take a leadership role in providing actionable recommendations that address both current business process as well as future opportunities
Basic Qualifications
· ACCA or ACA qualified
· Excellent academics
· Sound experience in Accounting and Controlling
· Experience of business partnering, with strong ability to support the UK management team and advise from a commercial finance stand-point
· Experience of setting budgets and forecasting
· Experience with inter-company and foreign currency related transactions
· Quick learner, able to understand the drivers of a business and drive performance
· Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
· Strong analytical and conceptual skills

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with NetSuite, Hyperion, Essbase and Oracle general ledger a plus
