ADP has an exciting opportunity for a Director of DevOps to provide leadership across all aspects of DevOps for our iHCM product. We are seeking someone with strong technology leadership and experience in release management and building strong relationships with operations teams to set high standards for release quality, pace and automation.
You will create the strategy and plans for the use of innovative new technology and best practices in enterprise-wide product delivery. You will also set the governance for, and drive the execution of, release management of iHCM. This is a hands-on role, so it’s a great opportunity to stay close to the technology and lead by example.
Building effective relationships and teams in multiple locations will be essential to create a cohesive DevOps culture across all aspects of the iHCM delivery landscape. Multiple teams contribute to the overall solution, so effective, automated controls are critical. You will manage members of our talented team (line and matrix management) to deliver these high quality products and services.
Experience, Skills, Academic:
Technical Experience
• Strong experience of build and build automation (e.g. Jenkins, etc.)
• Strong experience of modern configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
• Strong experience of automated deployment tools (e.g. Octopus Deploy).
• Experience of releasing in Cloud environments (e.g. Azure, EC2, etc.)
• Maintaining compliance with internal and external standards.
• Leading the release management of solutions with rapid growth.
• Scripting and automation.
• Distributed version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Migration of on-premise solutions to Cloud.
Management Experience
• Able to demonstrate career progression from hands on technologist to leader.
• Experience of recruiting, setting up and managing high performance teams.
• Exceptional ability to engage and direct multiple teams to a common goal.
• Extensive hands on experience agile/scrum development methodologies.
• Extensive experience in designing and delivering highly effective release strategies.
• Able to take a holistic view of a problem and ensure all decisions align with product and wider business goals.
• Identify stakeholders, helping to analyse requirements, extracting those of significance and taking appropriate action.
• Work with Development and Operations teams to ensure DevOps design and strategy is included seamlessly into all work.
• Ensure that strategy and plans are aligned to ADP standards.
