Analytics & Information Management is an exciting and thriving area of our Technology Consulting business. The practice has a unique blend of advisory and technical skills delivering the ability to perform advisory, design, assurance and implementation services to our enviable client base.



The practice operates across 4 distinct business areas including Enterprise Performance Management, Analytics, Information Management and Data Engineering. We have a portfolio of implementation propositions that cover a range of traditional and contemporary technologies.



Our EPM practice works with CIOs and CFOs from large national and multinational organisations to develop enterprise performance frameworks to allow them to effectively plan, measure and drive growth within their organisations. Whilst the initial development of these frameworks are technology agnostic, we are enhancing our capability to deliver integrated technology solutions based on Oracle's EPM suite.

There is a new opportunity for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join and help develop the Financial BI and DWH domain within our EPM practice, specifically focusing on delivering large enterprise Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions, typically using Oracle’s technologies, such as OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle DB.

The candidate will be expected to consult with all levels of a client's business and be comfortable in front of the finance, business and IT, and from the analysts and administrators to the CIO and CFO. The candidate will be involved in the full life cycle of an EPM project from the initial design of the performance management framework to the implementation of the supporting technology.



Responsibilities



Data Solution Expert ‑ Consultant/Senior Consultant will have responsibility for:

Designing and configuring Oracle Analytics and Data Warehousing technologies in order to deliver a solution that best accommodates the clients requirements;
Supporting the delivery of key transformation projects using Oracle as the technology enabler to provide Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Reporting solutions;
Advising on best practice approaches to Analytics and Data Warehousing, in order to improve accuracy, auditability, timeliness and efficiency, to produce effective Reporting solutions;
Supporting client requirements gathering/analysis workshops;
Analysis of business processes and business requirements and their mapping to system capabilities;
Problem solving to identify and action appropriate remedies for technical errors associated to the whole data pipeline;
Advising on the solution options available to accommodate the clients requirements and the advantages and disadvantages relating to those options;
Demonstrating knowledge of client decision-making and support processes and key client business drivers;
Providing industry context;
Assisting in the development of client bids
Requirements

We’re looking for a bright professional who strives for personal & professional development, has a solid educational background and outstanding academic achievements, an aptitude for analytics and who is willing to travel.



From a Business point of view, the ideal candidate will have: A background in Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. A good working knowledge of the interdependencies between different business functions such as Marketing, Sales, Production and Operations is preferred. A good working knowledge of statutory reporting and regulatory requirements as well as data reconciliation processes is also essential.

From a Technology point of view, the ideal candidate will have hands on experience in the technical development of end-to-end Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions with experience using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle DB. Experience in non-Oracle technologies like Tableau, Microstrategy and Informatica would be advantageous. The candidate should have an understanding of and interest in the future developments of Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing technologies, for example, the increasing interest in Cloud technologies, Mobile Analytics and Data Visualization.



Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish oneself and to be seen as the interface between IT (Finance Systems) and the Finance function is a must, as well as the ability to present findings and solutions to a range of audiences in a clear, concise and appropriate manner.



To qualify for the role you must have:

Relevant experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing in an Industry context or through previous Consulting work;
The ability to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving;
Exposure to detailed technical development with Reporting and Data Integration tools ‑ e.g. Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Data Integrator;
Proven experience in highly available and scalable solutions including design, deployment and administration;
Strategic vision, strong analytical skills and the imagination required to formulate and validate solutions;
The ability to work in a pressured environment and to achieve targets on schedule;
An understanding of industrial quality principles, legislation and best practice.
The following qualities are not required, but are recommended:

Minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent;
2+ full cycle implementation project;
Have an informed view of Oracle’s Business Intelligence Suite Roadmap;
An understanding of Oracle’s competitors in the Analytics and Business Intelligence marketplace
Data Visualization expertise (QlikView, Tableau, etc.)
