Performing billable engagements for clients – specifically around:

Programme Test management roles will require senior client stakeholder management and management of large Cognizant testing delivery teams
Reporting progress against plan within the client programme structure and also internally to the Cognizant account team
Managing against the defined statements of work and contractual commitments of the programme of work
Supporting the client account teams in pre-sales testing activities. This includes client meetings, bid and proposal responses as well as the creation of service offerings and value propositions
Ensuring that the objectives and operating model for the PQC practice is effectively and continuously communicated across all other areas within CBC and other associated functions in Cognizant Technology Services (CTS)
Contributing to the development of the PQC-UK business plan
3. Competencies
Has a comprehensive knowledge of all QA & Testing events throughout the development lifecycle. Fully understands the importance of commercial constraints
Capability to manage large testing streams on multi-million pound projects
Ability to effectively manage distributed testing teams (onsite and offshore) that may cover all aspects of testing (functional, non-functional, automation)
Ability to operate as a testing specialist or consultant playing a leading role in defining test strategies, managing test activities and giving advice across a wide area as an expert in a field such as communications technology or data management
Has excellent inter-personal, communication and stakeholder management skills and is experienced at dealing with clients / users at all levels
Demonstrable thought-leadership – providing views, opinions and proposals that tie in with wider Cognizant forward looking initiatives and relate to the direction that the industry is moving
Able to provide a risk-based view at any point in the project to enable decision-making on scope and approach for testing, and as input to Quality Gate readiness / risk assessments
Decision making of a technical or management nature which has a significant medium to long term effect on an area of the testing work and on the business as a whole
Is fully capable of preparing, organising and giving presentations using appropriate tools and techniques in both written and oral modes
Has experience in defining and implementing end-to-end Quality and Process Improvement initiatives
Shows initiative and make time available to ensure general technical competencies and specialist knowledge is kept up-to-date in line with industry developments
Evaluate, recommend and implement testing processes, methods and tools to deliver to quality standards
4. Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Must Have
Strong experience in performing QA and Test management roles (strategy, planning, design, execution, incident management and lifecycle management); must have an excellent all round knowledge of management and have the skills required to have both a hands on and strategic impact on delivery; strong detailed knowledge of structured QA and testing processes, risk based testing, incident management and quality control
Strong knowledge of industry-defined services / practises / methodologies / frameworks (i.e. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, etc.)
Ability to define and manage a metrics framework to support project delivery go / no go decisions as well as a continuous improvement programme
Strong client facing and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Must be flexible in terms of travel to client locations (predominantly within the UK)
Ideal
Experience across different industry sectors although the most important experience required is within Banking and Financial Services
End-to-end process improvement experience, ideally with Six Sigma training
Project management experience: includes experience of planning, change management, release and configuration management, handling diverse and multiple deliverables, resourcing and cost and risk and issue management
Experience of pre-sales work including the creation of value propositions and service offerings; supporting a sales team in client facing meetings; working on bid proposals
Experience of working at a global level and specifically onshore/offshore testing models
Experienced in team management (test team size > 25)
Understanding of tools and automation strategy and automation frameworks (data driven and keyword driven)
Risk-based approach to developing strategies for maximum value, and assessing impact and testing risk of software changes
