Job Description

The Head of Business Consulting has responsibility for the ongoing development of the Management Consulting Division within Consultancy. The Management Consulting Division provide both onsite and offsite consulting support to prospects, implementing clients and production clients covering all business domains supported by the functionality available within T24 and its related modules.
Key areas of focus will include capability and capacity planning within Management Consulting, working directly with the resource management function within Consultancy to plan for availability of skilled and qualified consultants in-line with the continuing growth of the T24 client base. Capability planning will include the transformation of the consulting pool which has traditionally focused on the functional capabilities of T24 into an experienced team of domain consultants who are comfortable with providing guidance and leadership to clients globally. The Head of Management Consulting is also tasked with ensuring that each consultant within the division is delivering the requisite number of chargeable days and the Head of Business Consulting will provide active support to the Resource Management function within Consultancy to ensure resources are allocated in a cost efficient manner to support maintaining a level of margin for each activity.
With a number of competence owners reporting directly to the Head of Management Consulting, they will be responsible to driving the standardization of solutions provided by consultants within specific competence areas globally along with maintaining uniformity of deliverable quality standards. The Head of Management Consulting will also have a key role in supporting the ongoing development of the offsite delivery capability of TEMENOS and ensuring the seamless interaction between the Management Consulting team and the Product Groups.
The Head of Management Consulting will also be responsible for overseeing the development of consultants within each competence area, including the provision of consulting aids such as information available through the Knowledge Base and formal and informal information sharing forums. The development of consultants will also include the provision of external and internal training to ensure that the consulting pool continues to evolve to meet the changing demands of new product / functionality and the evolving TEMENOS Implementation Methodology.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Ensure utilization of resources and margin contribution to the overall Services business remains in line with the annual planning for Management Consulting
  • Oversee capacity planning, including providing business case justification for investment in additional resources or capability as the need is forecasted
  • Thought leader within TEMENOS for the ongoing development of the consulting packages available from Management Consulting
  • Key contact with the Partner stream in the ongoing development of the Partner Consulting Capability providing insight and guidance on appropriate areas of focus for partner development.
  • Work with Global Competence Leads to ensure skill set capability is maintained within each competence domain
  • Work with Global Competence Leads and Resource Management to continuously plan for consulting capacity within each competence domain
  • Oversee Training Allocations and ensure that Consultants are scheduled for Career Development through internal and external training opportunities
  • Ensure consistent solution design, uniformity of deliverable quality standards and maximizing the reuse of available components and packages available through the TEMENOS Application Management group.
  • Ensure Internal Signoff of all Solution Design Documents, including Management Solution Documents for clients for each domain globally.
  • Facilitate the Management Consulting contributions to the ongoing development of the Model Bank through identifying with the support of Competence Leads all changes which would add value to the Model Bank. These changes will need to be approved by the Design Authority with the Product Organisation for inclusion in the Model Bank.
  • Provide intervention support on client sites through escalation, facilitating early resolution of project issues with the support of the Global and Regional Competence Leads.
  • Perform such other duties, functions and services, consistent with status or vocational ability, as may from time to time be required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational & Proficiency level: Professional with a minimum of ten years of experience in Consulting or in Banking Software Consultancy.
  • Technical knowledge: In depth understanding of financial services industry and related challenges in implementation a core banking solution. Should have strong business acumen with an understanding of the financial processes supporting a consultancy business. IT oriented: knowledge of a banking software application; excellent knowledge in PowerPoint, Excel as well as other MS Office environment applications.
  • Others: This job involves complex activities demanding considerable co-ordination to effectively achieve the jobs end results. Awareness of other jobs in the project team is necessary as the job activities either influence or are influenced by these. Fully understand and be able to deploy the TEMENOS Implementation Methodology.
