Job Description

DescriptionReporting to the head of Project Management, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring they are consistent with Deloitte strategy, and follow best practice techniques.

DimensionsITS is an internal facing department delivering a wide range of projects within Deloitte.  Projects range from software application development to replacing key elements of our infrastructure.  A broad range of experience is therefore essential.  We are specifically interested in candidates with experience managing the following types of project: 
  • LAN/WAN replacement and upgrades
  • O/S and desktop upgrades
  • Building projects, internal moves, relocations and complete office fit-outs
  • Ip Telephony implementation/migration
  • Storage infrastructure migrations and upgrades
  • Software development projects (.Net framework)
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2007/2010
  • Intranet migrations
  • Security and BCP related activity
 Activities and responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans
  • Manage project budget
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Quality assurance
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress
  • Implement and manage project changes
  • Handover of project deliverables to support organisation

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Qualification in project management or equivalent, e.g. Prince 2, PMI
  • Knowledge of Agile application development techniques
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity
  • Proven experience in managing people in a matrix organisation
  • Proven experience in strategic planning
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Problem solving skills
