Job Description

Due to our continued success we have two vacancies for Risk and Opportunities Managers within our Vehicles and Special Projects business areas, to develop the risk and opportunities register with the programme team. The risk and opportunities register contains the known cost, schedule and technical risk and opportunities in a complex development programme event driven network. Additionally, the Risk Manager, alongside the programme leads, develops a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the risk and a mitigation plan for reducing or eliminating each risk.

In conjunction with the Master Planner and Scheduler, the Risk and Opportunities manager will develop a Monte Carlo analysis of the programme networked schedule and costs, with respect to known and unknown risks. The Risk and Opportunities manager will publish the results of the schedule risk analysis in accordance with contract deliverable requirements and will present and participate in Risk and Opportunities meetings and reviews and will be responsible for the production of Project Risk and Opportunity Reporting.

Desired Skills & Experience

With a proven track record in Risk Management and Risk Planning in MoD or Defence related programmes, the ideal applicant will have an excellent working knowledge of, and experience in industry standard risk tools, such as Predict and ARM, and in addition a strong technical background to understand the issues associated with the technical development and integration of cutting edge systems.

This is a demanding role within a team environment, therefore the ability to work under pressure using initiative, in order to take on responsibility and being able to use innovative approaches to problem solving within the project programme environment is a must.

Good interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively, formally and informally, with a wide range of people including internal senior management and project team members, subcontractors and suppliers through to high level customer representatives.

You will also have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience and combined education.
