Regional Engineering Manager

Purpose of the Role:
To be a discipline technical lead and provide specific high level engineering strategic support to projects and the wider rail business for engineering and design assurance and governance.
To ensure that processes, procedures and standards, including contractual engineering requirements, are complied with and adhered to and suitably controlled.
To support projects and interfacing with clients in the understanding of scope and specification for delivery to time and budget and for the safety, build ability and operability. To challenge the projects and clients for realistic programming of discipline activities taking cognisance of other project discipline activities and for any deviation from process, procedure and standard.
To support tendering for technical engineering elements.

Key Objectives of the Role:
Be compliant personally and ensure that the engineering and design delivery teams are in compliance with health, safety and welfare legislation, policies, procedures and standards including CDM2007 and other industry legislation and approved codes of practice.
To manage the technical engineering (and design) coordination of projects allocated to, identifying change and non compliance.
Define clear objectives for project teams to achieve the required technical and quality standards.
Identify and develop opportunities for improvement in safety, effective-working practices, productivity and quality standards.
Undertake the role of Contractors Engineering Manager.
Monitor and ensure all engineering and design technical and scope requirements are fully complied with and that correct procedures, processes and standards are in place and being adhered to.
Support the firming of scope and the forming of tender submissions to include meetings, pricing, specifications, programmes, organisation charts, narratives, presentations and tender queries.
