Job Description
The Global Data Platform Director will be responsible for evolution and execution of the Maxus Data Platform strategy. He/she will define the overall roadmap and direction for the Data Platform, direct Data Platform implementations for our clients and internal teams, champion the Platform’s strategy and solutions, oversee the management and delivery of projects, support business development, and drive further penetration of the solution around the world.
The Global Data Platform Director will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the network, including global and regional executives and local market leads to set the overall strategy based on agency, client and market level needs, as well as work with the GroupM Data & Analytics team (our solutions provider) to evolve their product roadmap and feature set to best fit Maxus’ needs.
He/she will lead and support the sell-in, delivery, and adoption of the solution among our clients and internal teams, and liaise with GroupM to ensure its success.
The Global Director will also direct a team of regional leads that are focused on the execution of the Data Platform strategy and implementation at a regional level, ensuring alignment with the program globally and enabling their success.
Responsibilities
• Drive the uptake and usage of Data Platform across the Maxus network & client base
• Deploy expert-level knowledge in data management and data visualization technologies for Maxus clients
• Oversee Data Platform engagements
• Lead and collaborate with the regional Data Platform leads
• Support Maxus new business efforts across all markets
• Define the data management and data visualization roadmap for Maxus, in partnership with appropriate functional leads
• Define and promote the Maxus global standards for data management and data visualization
• Ensure that the Data Platform programme is fully integrated with our advanced analytics, digital and insight initiatives
• Differentiate Maxus with innovative data interpretation and visualization techniques
• Liaise with GroupM (the solution provider) and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that the project meets all success criteria
• Prioritize projects appropriately, involving the right stakeholders, and direct the implementation team accordingly
• Assist with project planning and funding, ie facilitate and review project cost and effort estimates, obtain funding approval, track actual project cost and effort
• Monitor the program’s success against KPI’s set by leadership and drive towards achieving those KPIs
• Communicate program updates to executive leadership and ensure the program is aligned to their objectives
Skill & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• Substantial experience in data management and visualization solutions, preferably in advertising/marketing/media
• Capacity to innovate and think creatively with data and to understand what is – and what is not – possible with any data sets.
• Experience with data from syndicated media research & media systems (e.g. Nielsen, comScore, DDS, etc) is strongly preferred
• Experience with data from web measurement technologies such as: ad serving platforms (e.g. DoubleClick, Sizmek), campaign management (e.g. Prisma), website analytics software (e.g., WebTrends, SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics), paid search engine marketing data sources (e.g., Google, Marin, Kenshoo) is strongly preferred
• Experience with Tableau will be highly valued
• Understanding of advanced Marketing Analytics (Marketing-Mix Modeling), Marketing Research and/or Digital Operations will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R) will be an added advantage.
