Director Sales Suse Newbury


Job description
This position reports into the SUSE EMEA VP Sales based out of the Netherlands and is located in Newbury,UK. The team consists of account executives, partner sales, inside sales and sales engineering, approximately 10 heads, supported by a local marketing rep and other (virtual) resources.
The responsibility of the Sales Director is to grow SUSE’s business in the UK and Ireland region and to maximize a profitable revenue stream.

You will develop and implement local go-to-market strategies and plans in support of SUSE’s global business objectives.
Whilst this role is incentivized on the team performance, the ideal candidate will combine effective sales management (70%) with very hands on senior account management (30%).
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic management of the SUSE sales organisation
Leading the sales organisation
Coaching and developing the team
Organise the work and team to meet agreed goals
Sales, account and territory planning
Developing new sales channels
Active sales involvement with key accounts

This position is primarily measured by achieving sales target. Additionally, this role is measured on:
Revenue & bookings performance against target and against forecast
Pipeline development
Selling the right product mix

Required Skills
Candidates must possess the following skills & experience:
Minimum: Bachelors degree (equivalent) in Business, Economics, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing of high technology products
2-5 years of experience in sales management roles
Proven new business sales experience in complex, high value enterprise software environment with the ability to find/create/progress/close new business
Proven success in closing direct and indirect business
Has worked credibly at all levels including board and operational levels
Has an existing leverageable knowledge and network of accounts in the IT infrastructure area, preferably in the IT-Storage area
Preferably has experience in Open Source software sales
Has worked successfully in EMEA wide organizations with virtual teams
