Job description
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction and overall leadership to the Logistics team encompassing Planning, Warehouse and Site Launch and Data Control department.
• Development and delivery of the strategic direction of the site by being a full member of the Site Leadership Team.
• Provide leadership and direction to the management of the interface between GSK customers and the site delivering excellent customer service.

• Ensure that products are delivered to customers in full and on time.
• Responsible for the Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain Planning Processes facilitating resolution of site issues to fulfill GMS mission to support our commercial colleagues.
• Actively promote and support Transformation of the site and specifically within the Logistics area, including the Flow project in Planning through the areas across the site to the dispatch team.
• Responsible for internal and external audits of the departments.
• Provide strategic input to Site Impact Assessments.
• Provide input and leadership to ad-hoc projects and governance steering groups as required
• Act as deputy for the Site Director on occasions.
• Act as the key contact between the Barnard Castle Site Leadership Team and the Procurement Shared Service.
• Model the way and encourage use of OE tools in every aspect of day to day and project work.

Accountability

• Accountable for the end to end process of supply from our suppliers through warehouse, scheduling the production lines to shipment of product to customers to meet the commercial ambition.
• Delivery of site’s IDP and SOLS KPIs.
• Delivering a change management approach in cultural and ways of working changes throughout the function to support the Flow and Transformation of the site.
• Ensure GSK and UK policies are adhered to and good governance and integrity on all commercial undertakings.
• Accountable for ensuring appropriate and challenging budgets are set and delivered.
• Ensure site risks associated with commercial activities, including external suppliers are identified and mitigated.
• Assist in the development and delivery of the site’s strategic direction with particular focus on products and markets.
• Influence company strategies in Logistics and support implementation of company improvement/compliance initiatives.

Complexity

• Strong network into the site functional groups: Pharma Ops and the SAB cluster Logistics contacts, , Global Logistics, Procurement Sourcing Groups and Shared Service, MSDs, Distribution, RSC
• Strong on-site network into the Business units, NPI and Technical organisations.
• Ensure appropriate off-site escalation and management of issues arising or potentially arising that could impact customer supply.

Specialised Knowledge

• Site Leadership experience in leading significant teams and breadth of manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Company Policies & Procedures on the Logistics function.

Qualifications
• BSc or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience in on-site strategic leadership logistical position within Pharma function or FMCG is highly desirable
• Great communication skills
• Comfortable working with global stakeholders across a matrix style organization
• Operational experience including an understanding of compliance systems
• Led multi functional teams
