Balance Sheet and Capital Management is a global function within the Chief Finance Officer Group, responsible for ensuring efficient and proactive management of economic, regulatory capital and use of balance sheet. The successful candidate will join the BSCM International Capital Management team, and will be managing a small team of senior SMEs. The role involves close partnership with Lines of Business, Risk & local CFO teams on the ground in EMEA, as well as with specialist teams in the US. The individual will need to build strong proactive working relationships across ranks, functions and countries to operate effectively.

The role encompasses all aspects relating to capital in facing off to the Lines of Business in the EMEA region, with a focus on capital impact advisory on new products, structured trades and efficient hedging strategies to ensure correct regulatory capital treatment. This will entail strong knowledge of the changing US capital regulations, as well as managing numerous deliveries with varying timelines whilst demonstrating appropriate challenge and due diligence. The candidate will work in partnership with the local CFO team, LOB heads and CVA trading desk in EMEA as a support function and need to liaise closely with US teams for policy guidance and to ensure enterprise consistency. There will be a key training & education element to ensure consistent companywide training and knowledge sharing in the region, as well as developing ad-hoc analysis exercises. Additionally, the candidate will need to keep abreast of changing capital regulations in EMEA, understanding the variances with the US rules, and work with BS&CM Policy for regulatory capital advice and interpretation, including new product and business initiatives approval, and be required to demonstrate appropriate challenge and due diligence As the Senior Finance Director your main responsibilities will involve:
Providing business support, including coordination with legal, risk, finance & accounting policy teams, for capital implications of new products, live transactions and business initiatives
Providing guidance and support for capital calculations for BANA in the EMEA region, both pre- transaction and post- execution, ensuring smooth communication and effective working relationships
Developing and managing a small team of senior SMEs
High quality delivery of training and education to the EMEA region on the capital impact of new US capital regulations and implementation thereof within BAC
Understanding and supporting any additional training needs GBAM and EMEA LOB heads, over and above that provided / supported by US teams
Leading bespoke ad-hoc analysis
Close coordination with BS&CM Policy to ensure consistency regulator capital advice, interpretation and documentation to requisite standards
Establishing strong working relationships with Finance and Risk functions in US to present seamless interface to key stakeholders and timely information flow in terms of model or allocation methodology changes

As the Senior Finance Director your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Strong Product Knowledge is essential
Knowledge of internal models (IMM, VaR, AMA) would be advantageous
Strong knowledge of Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, etc.
Detailed technical knowledge and practical application of Basel III rules, specifically US Basel 3 is preferred
Understanding of AITs, the AIT database and Runbook
Good understanding of the balance sheet, capital instruments and capital reporting requirements
Leadership skills and strong work ethic
Knowledge and practical application of stress testing would be advantageous
Strong quantitative skills and genuine interest in interpretation of data
Detail-orientation, proactivity in every approach and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environments
Ability to assess overall picture and understand key risks, with a dedicated work ethic to deliver high standards of excellence
Strong organisational skills - ability to prioritise & manage multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal & communication skills with ability and desire to build networks and work across multiple functions
