Job Description:
The Account Director must build close relationships at the appropriate level with the designated group of clients. This is to ensure that all clients receive cost effective and innovative AV plans, and that all buying targets are achieved to the MEC/Group M and Auditor guidelines.
The AD must deliver against each client's PRFs, tracking price and quality delivery (buying targets, reconciliation and audit performance). Implementing systems and processes enabling them to manage all group clients buying performance. They must also have good experience of working with auditors, building professional relationships with them on all audit accounts.

The role requires the AD to act as day to day senior TV, Radio, Cinema, media promotions and VOD contact on all implementational issues. Also responding to all client briefs and requests in a timely, professional and efficient manner. They must actively seek creative and innovative media solutions.

Working collaboratively with other MEC disciplines offices and MEC specialists or creative agencies to deliver an integrated service to clients and generate revenue earning opportunities.

They must co-ordinate the activities of account team members to be able to manage client delivery.

Lead designated co-ordination responsibilities to deliver departmental objectives.

The AD will also participate in internal projects and new business pitches.

Its essential that the AD promotes MECs values and ambitions to clients, contractors and AM’s, AE’s and graduates working in their team.

Develop strong relationships with key media owners
Deep understanding of:
TV Trading and Marketplace
Relevant Media Tools and Techniques
MEC ambition and values
Radio, cinema, non-spot and VOD buying experience
Understanding of Navigator operating system and applying Navigator process and tools where applicable to deliver effective implementational buying strategies.
Gain first-hand knowledge of all MEC tools and TV systems to ensure they can be applied to clients businesses at the appropriate time
Sound financial awareness including budget control of client profitability
Understanding of the agency book targets and guidelines
Workflow management including prioritisation and effective delegation
Managing and prioritising the workload of self and Account Managers/Account Execs
Training, managing, coaching and development of AM’s and AE’s
Being fully aware of deal parameters within MEC and Group M, and there effect on planning
Understanding financial and commercial awareness including client profitability.
Experience of working with & managing the communications planning teams to deliver plans and projects relevant to client group
Excellent day to day client handling skills
Ensuring strong professional relationships are formed with Auditors and other specialist partners where appropriate
Obtaining maximum value for clients budgets in all media negotiations leveraging added value where possible
Requires a detailed topical knowledge of relevant media news and developments
Proactive and enterprising attitude to all client requirements and dealings
Experience in late money negotiation
Use of internal systems and programmes including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, TV systems (such as DDS)
