Job Description:
The key focus for the Strategy & Innovation Director will be to:
- Develop, communicate, execute and sustain a strategic plan and strategic projects for CIG EMEA working in close collaboration with all other functions.
- Promote a culture of innovation across CIG through delivery of CIG innovation strategy and framework. Act as the bridge to the B2B organisation to leverage new business opportunities.
Responsibilities and Tasks
1. Leads the creation of the CIG longer-term strategy and vision by working closely with the Executive Vice Presidents of CIG and Corporate Strategy Teams. Uses market and business intelligence to inform strategy and plan.
2. Owns Mid-Term Plan creation. Works closely with CIG functions/sub-functions to ensure functional priorities reflect CIG’s strategic areas of focus and MTP objectives and to ensure they are capable of delivering our mid-term growth and profit targets. Validates new business development areas with CIG Leadership team and works in close collaboration with Corporate Strategy to identify new acquisition/partnership targets and plan to pursue these.
3. Identify areas of new business for CIG to invest, acquire or diversify into it. Work closely with Head of CIG, CIG Leadership Team and Corporate Strategy Teams to understand and agree on which strategic opportunities we will pursue. Develops plans to implement new business opportunities and delivers these to a point which can then be handed over to the relevant business as usual function.
4. Responsible for reviewing project ideas and initiating projects to drive CIG’s business objectives and prioritising these for CIG Leadership Team to ultimately decide which projects should be pursued
5. Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a highly effective and efficient team.
6. Run CIG Leadership Team in line with agreed Governance framework and oversee preparation of material for meeting and ensure agreed actions are progressed in line with requirements.
7. As part of CIG Leadership team, represent Canon at Conferences and public events
8. Work in close partnership with the Communications Specialist and Corporate Communications department to ensure CIG have a clear communication strategy and plan which enables both internal and external stakeholders to understand and by into our vision and plans.
9. Create strong relationships with B2B teams to ensure we have clear plans agreed on how to optimise cross selling opportunities of CIG Products through B2B channels working closely with Pro Strategy Senior Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Business or Marketing Graduate, ideally with relevant Post Graduate or equivalent degree
EXPERIENCE:
• Strong leadership with experience of managing through managers and matrix management ideally gained in a large corporate environment, preferably with some B2B experience
• Development and implementation of a strategy which has delivered sustainable growth outcomes
• Previous involvement in Mid Term Planning process an advantage
• Proven delivery of projects & programmes against agreed time, quality & cost targets
• Writing robust business cases
• Presenting to large audiences – internal and external
• Strong, well developed and active external network in particular in digital and .com areas
