An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Relationship Manager to join John Lewis IT, based in London Victoria. The successful candidate will manage the relationship between IT and the Operations directorate, ensuring maximum benefit from IT investments.
The IT Relationship Manager will be accountable for delivering outstanding IT service and value to Operations.

The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of both IT and the functions, chiefly Merchandising, Distribution, Customer Delivery and Contact Centres, that make up Operations in John Lewis. Building effective relationships with all stakeholders is key as-is being able to add value in strategic decision making and shaping investment proposals within the scope of the IT capital investment budget.
The IT Relationship Manager will also focus on innovation opportunities, working with stakeholders to trial new technologies or processes to shape future technology direction.
Job RequirementsThe IT Relationship Manager will be responsible for understanding and influencing the strategic plans Operations; leading the IT response to strategic plans and roadmap development and ensuring that technology considerations are shared and embedded in plans. This responsibility extends to the proactive identification of potential opportunities that could influence strategic plans.
The successful candidate will develop a broad understanding of the wider John Lewis portfolio of change; identifying dependencies, synergies, constraints and opportunities. Therefore, the Relationship Manager will input into a single view of demand to support forward planning activities across IT.
The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Architecture and Business Process teams to ensure a joined up technology response to business challenges and opportunities. The Relationship Manager will be the voice of IT at key directorate leadership events, programme boards and steering groups; and provides a clear two way communication path between commercial teams and IT.
The successful candidate will champion new ways of working; and identify and drive forward opportunities to continually improve the quality of relationship and effectiveness of how IT enables our business ambition.
Required essential experience skills and qualifications• Relationship management experience gained in a large complex organisation or consultancy environment
• Experience of an Operations environment in a large complex organisation or consultancy environment
• Proven evidence of influencing senior stakeholders
• Demonstrable ability to present a case effectively to others to achieve results
• Takes the initiative to understand and action own development areas
• Broad technical understanding and a passion for driving technical excellence
