The Director of Product Management, is an experienced and strategic leader who will drive global product leadership and execution of Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS) customer facing proposition. The individual will be responsible for leading a small team and engage our customers and stakeholders in markets across the globe. This leader and team will drive product initiatives throughout the lifecycle from vision, concept testing, development, launch, measurement and ongoing enhancement.

You will contribute proactively to the development of the company’s Trade Finance product portfolio through ideas and creativity based on solid market research, competitive analysis, customer understanding and working in close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, and Regional Product.

As a key member of the WUBS Global Product Team, the Director will contribute as a thought leader on both business and technical issues related to WUBS Trade Finance products and services and will also play a critical role in strategic planning. This position is expected to formulate and execute a global product strategy that directly contributes to the company’s revenue, profitability and overall value proposition.

The Director will be responsible for the following functions:

Product Vision and Leadership, collaborating with stakeholders in all markets to define the vision and detailed growth plans for our Trade solutions by region. To provide leadership, motivation and hands-on direction to product management, design and development teams to deliver exceptional product experiences and cultivate an agile results-driven culture in which innovation and excellence are expected and customer experiences that exceed expectations is the standard.

Product Strategy and Planning, driving and facilitating our Trade Finance product strategy and planning process across the business to provide focus and alignment on critical strategies and delivery plans whilst engaging with customers to ensure there is a clear and differentiated value proposition. You will execute a clear, actionable product strategy and priorities to deliver optimal results for customers and the business.
You will also provide critical input in to product marketing strategies for demand generation and client development: buyer/user personas, customer and market segmentation, product launch, channel partner management, sales training and tools, presentations, competitive analysis, lead generation and nurturing, content marketing, e-marketing, loyalty/retention and cross-selling.
Product Roadmap and Execution, managing the collection and analysis of market and competitive data and customer feedback, prioritize opportunities, derive conclusions and create a strategic vision that outlines the product roadmap to drive future revenue growth whilst Defining customer requirements and Use cases for customer facing platforms and key applications, to drive IT development.

Leadership and Talent Management, Motivating the global and regional product stakeholders through proactive performance management, clear accountability and on-going measurement against goals and to provide coaching and development opportunities to their team for career growth


About you
You will be a Self-starter who can simultaneously manage multiple internal and external initiatives/projects and deliver outstanding results and an Inspirational leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization and establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners whilst challenging unwilling behavior inconsistent with WU Behaviors. An astute business-minded strategic thinker with a strong ability to execute for results and have previously demonstrated leadership experience in a complex business. It is essential you are tough-minded but able to be flexible when the situation demands it, able to think on feet, ability to engage in critical discussion without personalizing outcomes.

Ideally you will possess University Degree, preferably in Business or Finance. MBA Preferred, Related software industry and/or financial services background, experience working for/with SME and mid-market clients essential ideally for a Tier 1 Financial institution and / or FinTech software provider preferred coupled with extensive exposure working with stakeholders across multiple regions/geographies whilst being highly technical and able to communicate with engineers on technical topics.
