Director Studies in General Practice University of Cambridge Cambridge

This post involves leadership of the General Practice Education Group (GPEG) team, involving development, delivery and quality assurance of the General Practice element of the medical curriculum in the University of Cambridge, with the support of senior members of the Primary Care Unit, particularly the Senior Lecturer in General Practice.

This team currently comprises three part-time Assistant Directors of GP studies; one part-time Graduate course GP coordinator; one part-time Preparing for patients course coordinator; three part-time GP hub teaching coordinators; and three administrative staff, one full-time, two part-time.

The post is within the GPEG of the Primary Care Unit (PCU), part of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care which is based at Cambridge Institute of Public Health, University Forvie site, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approx 2 miles south of city centre)

Responsibilities of the role include:-

Leadership and Management; Teaching; Student and Teacher Support, and Education Contribution to Research and Development.

The post is for 5 Consultant Programmed Activities (20 hours) per week. Applications will be considered from applicants able to deliver 4 Programmed Activities (16 hours per week).

Funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
