We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our fast paced, ever growing Distribution Team in Tilbury. Reporting directly to the Site Operations Manager, you will hold full P&L accountability for all shift activity which includes responsibility for budgetary cost control, KPI target setting and measurement and resource management of both people and plant utilised within the operation.

The successful candidate should be able to act as an ambassador for the shift ensuring that all Supervisors are controlling the operation through effective management and set out KPIs of operational personnel.
Principle Accountabilities:
Liaise with Supervisors and other Management to ensure targets are identified and act as a point of reference for operational problems
Ensure that you and your team operate in accordance with company policy, procedures and legislative requirements
Develop a highly motivated team of Supervisors by encouragement and promotion of open communication, leading task setting activity, holding regular briefing sessions and chairing minuted managers meetings as required by the Site Operations Manager
Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to
Ensure all Supervisors conduct disciplinary meetings where necessary to prevent failure of an employee to reach required standards or KPI targets
Actively support and communicate issues relating to operational performance , Health and Safety, Colleague Liaison Boards and deputise for the Site Operations Manager on occasions with regard to chairing , leading and documenting meetings on the above
Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff. Ensure induction training for all new starters and agency workers is carried out within your area of responsibility
What Are We Looking For?
The ability to regularly report on all aspects of the operation including finance, KPIs, Supervisor training and development and Health and Safety
Confident in setting daily achievement targets
Experience of planning and controlling weekly labour requirements
Ability to monitor and control warehouse department expenditure and provide commentary as requested by Site Operations Manager
Flexibility to work over a 24 hour window across all shifts to cover for holidays and absence
