Director Debt and Structured Finance CBRE UK London

Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Residential Debt & Structured Finance, the role will focus on structuring and originating capital for residential development and investment deals across the UK and Europe.

The role will sit within an established ‘joint venture’ between CBRE DSF and CBRE RES where both parties share both the risk and the reward. The structure of the ‘joint venture’ allows the individual to physically sit in both the Capital Advisors and Residential businesses and will optically be seen by members of the wider CBRE RES and CBRE DSF groups as an integral part of their offering.


Key objectives are the development and continued growth of a profitable residential debt advisory business for the company in UK & Europe, complimenting the successful residential business that is already in place.

The ability to work in a team environment, evidencing strong communication skills and having an excellent understanding of market dynamics, investment criteria and returns together with credit risk issues is important.

Key Responsibilities

To be fully cognisant of current lending terms available from lenders and financial intermediaries that are active in the residential sector;
To achieve financial targets by arranging / advising on debt / banking services to customers with third party lenders;
To have a good understanding and, where possible, to know the lenders and borrowers, debt investors and debt servicing agents active in the residential sector;
Work closely with CBRE RES, with a view to enhancing and adding a new dimension to presentations and pitches;
In addition, new customer acquisition and successful deal structuring skills are required.




Desired Skills and Experience
Person Specification/Requirements

Experience of originating, structuring, negotiating and executing debt transactions within the UK & Europe for a broad range of residential transactions.
In depth knowledge of European capital markets, traditional legacy lenders, quasi debt financial instruments and new market entrants;
Excellent analytical skills, both commercial and financial including an advanced knowledge of financial modelling techniques. This will include the ability to run your own analysis / models for transactions.
Execution and documentation experience and strong management skills.
Excellent business development skills.
Experience of structuring and negotiation of transaction terms with banks, co-investors and other suppliers of funding.
The ability to prepare and present financing proposals with the skill and experience to influence and overcome objections.
The ability to scope, manage and review the due diligence process and outputs, as well as being able to lead the legal completion of any financing (if required).
Significant experience in UK & European real estate finance sector.
