Fleet Performance Manager Alstom Chester

Lead and direct the Fleet performance Team to deliver 2nd level technical support, LCC management, maintenance optimisation and reliability growth.
Lead, manage and support technical investigations, specialist support and safety investigations.
Develop and implement remote monitoring tools for root cause analysis and preventative maintenance activities.
Develop solutions and implement technical changes within a robust change control process (gaining approval from the Fleet Engineering Manager and with due consideration for operational implications)

Assist in the closure of HIRs and NIRs, as well as assist with the completion of risk assessments.
Maintain a clear understanding of the legislative requirements for engineering change and the standards and guidance documents related to railway safety. Liaise with the Professional Head of Engineering in issues relating to engineering change and railway safety.
Utilisation of corporate problem solving tools e.g. 8D, PDCA etc.
Support and mentor the Fleet Delivery Team for the day-to-day service provision and remote (shore based) monitoring of the EMU / DMU / Coaching Stock fleets covering required service diagrams 7 days per week.
Develop the shore based monitoring tools inc Rule Engine & Traintracer to optimise maintenance processes and minimise in-service delays.
Assist the Fleet Delivery Team with defect control management, preventative and corrective maintenance optimisation
Develop and optimise technical data analysis tools with the Performance and Process Team, assist with arbitration and recommend associated business processes.
Management of the LCC associated with allocated Engineers and assist in the development of strategies to protect, and where possible improve, the LCC leading to betterment of the SPR. This may be through proposal/support of FMI/RFT and optimisation of maintenance activities.
Support the Maintenance Development Team in activities related to new maintenance and overhaul tasks where briefing/demonstration to team members is required in order to cascade changes in method/requirements of the tasks. This may from time to time require flexibility in working arrangements.
Assist in the development of Standard Operations documents through liaison with the Maintenance Development Team, including, but not limited to, the design and implementation of specialised tooling, innovative techniques and work flow optimisation
Propose fleet performance improvement initiatives to the Heavy Maintenance Team, utilise defect analysis tools to support the business case for heavy overhaul activities.
Provide Tender Support to the Business Development Team when requested.
Customer and stakeholder support with associated Train Operating Companies and with Network Rail, supporting network change with reference to planning in support of the EMU / DMU / Coaching Stock Projects.
Where requested become actively involved in Kaizen, Lean and generic business improvement methodologies in a supporting, participating or facilitating role.
Full compliance with Alstom people management procedures
Team working across Operations and UK and Ireland region using Team, Trust, Action principles.
Provide support to other projects and service sectors as required

Desired Knowledge / Experience

Degree in Engineering (Mech or Elect) or equivalent experience
Strong & confident communication and interpersonal skills
Project management (or technical project management).
Rolling stock operations/maintenance.
Commissioning/warranty or Reliability growth.
Managed large teams of at least 1 level on multiple sites
Demonstrated skill in team building and people development.
Budget setting and control.
Problem solving with Suppliers
Can use “tools” of maintenance performance improvement (LCC, RCM, workshop load balancing etc)
