Senior Director - Strategic Alliances - Hertz - Uxbridge, London
Job description
Hertz are looking to recruit a Senior Director of Strategic Alliances to join our European Headquarters in Uxbridge, London.
Your role will be;
To own, drive and deliver the strategy and revenue/contribution generation for the International Division (outside the US and with focus predominantly on EMEA) in the area of our Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, across all Brands.
This extends to airline and non-airline partnerships, including some key strategic partnerships for the business. Hertz is a market leader in the airline space, and this role is critical to continue the development of Hertz’s experience and market share across multiple brands.
Management of at least 4 direct reports (and their associated teams) based predominantly across Europe (as well as the Middle East), as well as close liaison within the commercial directors within Asia Pac.
The role requires a strong strategic outlook, networking and delivery capabilities to ensure Hertz is best placed for developing relationships, strong network, proven product and IT solutions to secure new business and grow market share. This requires a good understanding of the airline and travel/leisure industries, online retailing and IT platforms, loyalty programmes and analytics.
KPI’s include: Sales Contribution and Revenue generation through Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, market share improvements and cost reductions.
Key Result Areas
Business development: hunting, proposal and pitch presentations, negotiation
Effective Forecast and planning
Develop strategy, focus and drive through implementation teams
Relationship management at Executive/Board level within existing and new partners
To manage team to deliver annual Business plan
Consultation approach for Asia Pac / to support team with knowledge
Develop and defend strategies to ensure partnership growth within the business and across the Hertz brands
Build and maintain relationships with IT platform providers
Sponsor the in-house ecommerce capabilities and developments to provide platforms for airline requirements
Reduce costs through renegotiation – commission, Frequent Traveller costs, marketing investments – where appropriate
Develop team work with Partnership Marketing teams at HEL and in markets to ensure correct support levels for sales targets
Support account management and relationship management with strategic partners
Consolidated reporting and further analytics of results to drive team actions
To be visible and attend travel industry events, networking opportunities
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all senior management and commercial directors.
Desired Skills and Experience
Educational Background:
BA/MBA, Commercial education.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 8 year experience in air/travel industry; business development or sales functions, preferably in an international environment
Good experience of travel distribution / e-commerce
Experience of working and operating in cross border teams
Proven track record of multi-million sales targets
Proven track record of relationship building skills
Airline partnership experience would be an advantage
Reporting and analytical experience
Previous experience of working with multiple departments and different levels of management
Significant experience of leading teams to deliver high performing results

Strong personality, able to work in a high pressure, demanding environment with ability to prioritise workload
