Creative Director - Sutherland Global Services - London
Job description
This is a high profile role to bring creative leadership to the Sutherland Innovation Labs, and a unique opportunity to define a new visual language and in-house style for the outputs of the Innovation Labs and, over time, potentially the wider parent company. The Creative Director will report to the Vice President of the Sutherland Innovation Labs in the UK, who is also the Global Head of the Experience Research Team. The Creative Director must be a hands-on creative professional who is not only able to define but also keen to create a company’s brand identity, visual style and online and offline visual assets and collateral. It is also expected that the Creative Director will work closely with the Experience Research Team and form part of the senior management of that group. The role will require working with both external and internal clients and some travel between UK, US and other locations as required.
Responsibilities:
Leadership skills to create a new vision and design ‘language’ for the Sutherland Innovation Labs
Experience of managing creative people, including designers (graphic, UX and interaction designers), photographers and film makers
Ability to interact with business leaders and translate business goals into compelling brand experiences and pitch design solutions
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, web design, and the use of flash and animation
Ability to storyboard or translate ideas into designs and solutions
Ability to manage creative projects from concept to completion
Ability to work with UX research teams and translate research insights into a creative vision, including creating mockups and design renders
Strong written and spoken communication skills
Fluency with industry standard design and web development tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Flash, Adobe AfterEffects & video editing (a plus), HTML etc.)
Strong understanding of delivery technologies, systems and software
Business development skills and an ability to identify and win creative consultancy work (as earning external revenue will also be important)
Experience of both print and media design, ability to work across both
Someone who will ensure brand guidelines, as they emerge, are followed and their integrity is protected

Qualifications
A visual, conceptual thinker who also has a keen business sense
Someone with a strong grasp of information architecture
Someone who can sketch out concepts and communicate a vision
8-10 years experience in a digital, media or advertising agency
Undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in the areas of fine arts, visual design, digital production, website development, media management etc.
Practical experience of working with interaction and UX researchers
Strong project management skills to keep multiple stakeholders happy
Someone who keeps up with the latest developments and trends in the creative, design and marketing communities
Good inter-personal skills, someone who knows how to get on with others, and build a rapport with marketing and sales teams
Experience of leading creative workshops and brainstorm sessions
