Director - Product & Propositions Marketing - Tata Communications - London


Job description
Tata Communications is a leading global provider of network services servicing enterprise customers, service providers (voice and data) and mobile operators. Reporting to the VP – Product & Propositions Marketing the Team Lead – Partner marketing, Joint propositions & Strategy 2.0 is a member of the Product & Propositions Marketing team, marketing Centre of Excellence & will be a member of the people managers group in marketing (MC15). This is a critical role in the transformation of Tata Communications from a product centric organization to a customer and market centric organization and to underpinning the path from Product to Services to Platforms across the portfolio.



Major Activities
Works with the VP – Product & Proposition Marketing, Strategy 2.0 PMO/Core team, Product Heads & marketing leadership team to define the joint value propositions across the stack of services, strategy to build & leverage the partner eco system
Co-owns (with product & the respective product marketer) the partner readiness of the services
Develops (and owns) the marketing plans for the partner marketing initiatives
Works with various marketing sub functions to set up a smooth & effective interlock process
Becomes a key spokes-person for the business with external stake holders – media, analysts and customer
Develops & owns joint value propositions across Tata’s services along with the partner capabilities
Works closely with the strategy 2.0 PMO / core team to enable the planning & execution of the strategy
Plays a critical role in the partner selection, onboarding & enablement processes
Drives & leads initiatives to understand the market requirements, competition & market trends. Shares the insights with the internal stakeholders to enable decision making
Works on the marketing of new & innovative business models focused on collaboration tools using our infrastructrure and partner capabilities e.g. Jamvee API
Manage the marketing budget (wherever applicable) to ensure that marketing effectiveness meets fiscal discipline & ROI benchmarking
Manages a high performing team with employee satisfaction in the top quartile

Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Qualifications

Graduate with certification by the Institute of Marketing or similar
MBA majoring in marketing a strong advantage
A marketing strategist with a high attention to operational details
Languages an advantage

Requisite Skills
Background in product management or technical marketing or strategy teams
Experience of managing & working as a part of a remote, global team
Significant expertise in the telecoms sector with an experience of working with partners

Technical
Sufficient technical skills to be able to constructively challenge product teams
Change management skills – this is a transformational role, not managing steady state
World class marketer – in terms of the thought process from strategic marketing to development of value propositions
Market planning and activation – to deliver to the business plan (AOP)

High influencing skills
Strong communication and presentation skills in English (other languages welcome)
Ability to manage a matrix of resources – developing an overall plan and delegating key elements

Work Experience
10-15 years in product/proposition marketing or product management or strategy teams preferred
