Director - Publisher and Songwriter Relations - Spotify - Cumbria
Job description
We seek an outstanding European Director of Publisher and Songwriter Relations to join our Global Publisher Relations team. You will develop, build and maintain Spotify's relationships with publishers, PROs, collecting societies and songwriters across Europe, explaining the benefits of the streaming model for the publishing community, advocating for Spotify to the industry and for the publishers and songwriters within Spotify. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
What you'll do * Develop, maintain and grow Spotify's partnerships with publishers, PROs, societies and songwriters across Europe * Help to shape and execute Spotify's global publishing relations strategy * Advocate internally on behalf of publishers, societies and songwriters, and provide input into the creation of publisher and songwriter-friendly products * Educate and advocate on behalf Spotify to publishers, societies and songwriters * Develop creative marketing programs to promote the repertoire of Spotify's rightsholder partners * Troubleshooting and account management of key relationships * Work cross-functionally with licensing, label relations, content operations, reporting, original content, marketing, finance, and legal * Work from our office in London
Who you are * You have 5+ years of experience working with publishers, PROs, songwriters and/or societies across Europe * You have knowledge of digital music and the streaming model; key stakeholders, market dynamics and opportunities * You have a deep understanding of European music publishing and digital music rights, and digital copyright administration * You are experienced at working across different cultures * You have the ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial, ambiguous, internet start-up environment * You are a confident and articulate presenter, both to small and large audiences * You have a history of self motivated performance with the ability and tenacity to execute. * You are a team player who recognizes that we are scaling fast and can listen to and voice viewpoints internally * You have a high level of comfort interfacing with all levels of management (externally and internally) and to communicate cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomes * You have a good network of contacts in the publishing and society worlds * You are fluent in both written and spoken English.
