Job Description
The EMEA OnBoarding Team is looking for a Manager of the London Client Implementation team based in London. This role will include line management responsibility for a team of 10 Implementation Managers. The team leads portfolio and fund-launch events as well as critical client change events such as investment guideline updates and significant portfolio restructuring. OnBoarding synchronizes internal BlackRock teams (sales, portfolio management, investment operations, and corporate functions) across all regions to deliver the collective intelligence of the firm to the benefit of our clients. We deliver predictable and risk-controlled launch and change events by leveraging our knowledge of BlackRock’s operating environment and following a structured implementation approach.
We are business partners who play an active and visible role in delivering a superior client experience on behalf of the firm. Senior members of the team advise internal stakeholders on how best to approach implementation events (e.g. risks, timing, and key activities) and will own requests with a project-management focus from notification through completion.
Role Responsibility
Primary Objectives Of The OnBoarding Team Manager
Support the Client Implementation Managers in managing launch and change events
Support development of team members and drive change within the OnBoarding organization to deliver a richer client experience
Help our sales teams manage client expectations by clearly spelling out what’s required to launch a new portfolio or effect a desired change
Provide critical control functions across team activity identifying and managing areas of risk identified
Build strong and effective relationships across the organization by partnering with the client business and our internal stakeholders
Identify and drive process improvement opportunities that lower the risk of errors and increase efficiency
Contribute to metrics that help our managers and stakeholders understand the value we deliver

The successful candidate will exhibit the following set of Experiences and Skills
Experience in the investment management business is highly desirable
Experience launching investment management products is highly desirable
Experience directly or indirectly supporting institutional clients is highly desirable
Knowledge of the different participants in the fund management business and their roles – fund managers, administrators, brokers, consultants and custodians
Track record of building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders
Knowledge of BlackRock’s internal processes, products, and fund structures a plus
10 + years industry and professional experience
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver on projects
Excellent attention to detail and well organized
Confidence to form and deliver a clear opinion with explanation and documentation of your rationale
Strong operational risk control and mitigation mentality
Judgment to escalate when necessary
Strong client management skills and service philosophy
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
Ability to operate effectively to tight deadlines
Proficiency in independently prioritizing own work and work of the broader team
Comfortable working under pressure
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
Desire to constantly be learning
Fluency in a European language seen as an advantage
Relevant degree preferred
Professional qualifications i.e. IMC desirable
