Job Description:
The Procurement Director will work across the organisation with senior managers to deliver the detailed Procurement operating model. They will be ready and able to lead by example, to practically demonstrate to the organisation how business groups and procurement can most effectively work together to deliver value.
The role will focus on fulfilling the Procurement transformation roadmap and delivering Procurement objectives in line with ARM’s 5-year plan. A capable and credible Procurement professional is required, leading the improvement across the range of procurement processes, spanning strategy & vision, process and infrastructure excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver the Procurement vision and strategy for the corporate Procurement function aligned to the broader ARM business strategy and objectives.
Deliver the Procurement policies that drive efficiency, whilst minimising risk, including bribery and fraud.
Overall responsibility for Procurement across ARM incorporating Centre-Led and Centre of Excellence models.
Continuously improve and manage procurement methodologies and tools to enable professional procurement practice across the global business.
Manage and improve the formal P2P process across the global business, and fully align with the financial processes.
Implement procurement improvement plans and report procurement performance against a set of agreed KPI targets.
Develop a small team of Category Managers for targeted categories of spend, working in collaboration with key business commercial and operational partners, and develop Category Strategies that manage / reduce cost while maintaining or improving current levels of service and / or quality. Specifically deliver savings plans for targeted categories within IT and Corporate Services
Manage all appropriate contracts across the business (in line with agreed spend thresholds and category responsibilities) to ensure that ARM gets the best value from suppliers, and contracts are negotiated on time to support Category Strategies.Implement and maintain a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process to ensure that selected suppliers are managed effectively to maximise value.
Work with the Legal group to build documentation sets to support procurement activity, manage risk, and manage contracts.
Implement effective technology platforms to support objectives (e.g. spend analysis / contact Management / SRM / benefits tracking and realisation / P2P / etc.).
Skills & Experience
Seasoned and credible leader in Procurement. 10-15 years in positions of increasing responsibility, cross-company and cross functional experience and learning.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building new inter-company relationships.
Deep cross-functional knowledge and understanding of collaborating across various business units.
Experience of managing organizational strategic change and long term corporate strategy projects.
Clear communicator committed to painting the vision of the ideal future state and continually holding others accountable for the transformation.
An effective communicator and leader, with the credibility and skills to influence and engage at all levels, and to understand your audiences and their motivations.
A strategic thinker with the experience and aptitude to understand the breadth the company's operations.
Strong procurement knowledge across a variety of categories; IT, Corporate Services and Engineering would be highly desirable.
Proven track record of delivering savings through implementing new commercial agreements.
Proven track record of delivering value through improving the relationship with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Proven track record of tracking and improving performance of the procurement function.
Experience will preferably include working within an international, multi-site, complex organisation.
CIPS qualified preferable
