We are looking for a talented Director of Business Development that will come in and lead the charge for the New Business Development team in our London office. The individual will be responsible for initiating, negotiating, and closing mobile monetization agreements with leading Fortune 500 media companies and premium content creators. This rockstar will have a strong rolodex to call upon to:
Bring their smartphone & tablet apps (iOS & Android) onto the Opera mobile video monetization platform
Manage and grow their mobile video inventory for monetization opportunities through Opera’s innovative suite of mobile ad products
Cultivate long-lasting and meaningful relationships with these publishers that will make Opera a trusted go-to partner for mobile monetization
Responsibilities
Assist SVP of Marketplace with all strategic and tactical business development initiatives related to media company publishers
Develop and implement strategic plan to meet quarterly and annual new business development goals for generating mobile video inventory
Evangelize our mobile video ad platform (i.e. helping clients monetize their mobile apps) to various heads of business development, mobile products, monetization and digital advertising from Fortune 500 media companies and top app developers
Identify new prospects and develop new client relationships within the media publisher community
Develop and manage day-to-day direction of account management team
Coordinate with crossfunctional teams including legal, QA and tech support to ensure optimal integration experience and service
Evaluate how well creative and technical solutions meet strategic objectives
Ensure the quality and timeliness of monetization services and deliverables
Participate in strategic client planning
Occasional travel across EMEA and to US headquarters
Qualifications
Solid client, ad network and/or exchange-side experience with demonstrated expertise in monetization, business development, client management, communications, strategy & marketing within the mobile or online space
Organization, attention to detail, and self-motivation with a deep interest and proven success in hunting for, developing and closing new business
Strong, leveragable relationships within the media publishing industry
Demonstrated ability to successfully plan for and execute complex business negotiations
Consistent record of achievement in meeting and exceeding management goals
Skill in crafting pitches to current and potential clients, delivering time and resource estimates
Extensive experience in sales / business development for a mobile or online advertising platform
Strong understanding of the both the strategic and tactical implications for mobile video advertising
Solid experience with SDK-based publisher development
Ability to articulately speak to the benefits of mobile video ad monetization and respond to client questions with strategic, insightful and applicable answers
BA/BS in Marketing, Economics, Business or related field required, MBA preferred
