Reuters, the world’s largest multimedia news agency, is looking for a Director of Video Products to join its Product leadership team. The Director of Video Products will be a key member of a multidisciplined team, responsible for ensuring our industry-leading video product set is the best it can be.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The proven ability to get things done in a large, matrix organization is a pre-requisite, as is experience of all aspects of the product life-cycle: from concept to market launch and beyond.
oAS. As well as being responsible for the New Product Development process, the candidate will become a thought-leader and expert on all our video products – from mobile -ready video to our extensive archive - advising internally and externally as appropriate.

S/he will ensure our video products are well marketed, appropriately priced, delivered on time and on budget and delight our global business-to-business customer base as well as their consumers.
S/he will have superlative communication skills, able to collaborate with colleagues from technology, finance, sales and editorial teams.

The right candidate will work in a product driven organization, analyze industry trends using data to inform decisions and have a “continuous improvement” attitude.

Key Relationships:

Acting as the voice of the customer, the Director of Video Products sits at the intersection of our global Sales, Editorial and Engineering teams. The ability to successfully collaborate with virtual teams across time zones and cultures is critical to the success of the candidate.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
The need to understand and interpret fundamental workings and trends within the video industry and apply them to the news agency business.
Knowledge of the video product life-cycle: from camera to archive.
The need to understand and apply advances in video technology: from live streaming to cloud technology.
Experience of working with – or deep understanding of – news broadcasters and their needs.
Superior client engagement skills, including ability to build and manage customer relationships.
Ability to establish and manage 3rd party relationships including suppliers and collaboration partnerships.
Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to influence internal and external audiences.
Excellent written skills, including extensive experience writing comprehensive business and functional requirements.
Strong project management, analytical, and prioritization skills.
Experience of working in an agile environment
Experience of working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Deep understanding of online video delivery, consumption and analytics.
Demonstrable experience of the end-to-end product process from ideation through to sunset.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Language skills in addition to English is highly desirable and beneficial when involved in both internal and external relationships – whether colleague, partner, future or existing customer.
University degree is desirable
