Director – Senior Training Specialist Moody's Analytics - London



Job Description

The Role:

The Training Services team is part of the Professional Services division of Moody's Analytics, which also comprises our advisory services. We provide high quality professional training in credit risk analysis, capital markets, and personal & professional development around the world. Our Training Specialists occasionally also get involved in credit risk management advisory assignments such as the design and building of risk rating scorecards. The Training Services team plays an important role in providing financial education to global markets.

Working within an international team of highly-skilled and experienced professionals, we are seeking to appoint an additional Training Consultant in our Financial Markets franchise, based in London. The trainer would deal with both bank and fixed income clients, and instruct seminars from fundamental to advanced levels on a broad range of topics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver open enrolment seminars and workshops.  Normally these seminars will be delivered in Europe, Middle East and Africa. However these seminars are provided globally by Moody’s and opportunities to deliver in other locations will arise from time to time. 

  • Design new training courses and workshops. This will involve understanding the training need that the workshop is to address, setting learning objectives, creating content to meet those objectives and deciding how the material is to be delivered. Typically this will encompass  research, creating case studies and training materials including handouts, powerpoint presentations and files. Many of our training programmes are suitable for multi-channel delivery and the trainers are responsible for suggesting how this can be implemented.


  • Facilitate client specific workshops. These are held at locations of our client’s choosing and we have a significant number of global relationships which require us to deliver workshops in many different locations. These workshops require discretion and confidentiality on the part of the trainer.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on financial markets advisory assignments. Often these are closely related to the subjects covered in our training programmes but require a different approach.

  • Maintain a comprehensive and up to date understanding of financial market products and risk management technicques.

  • Develop  business opportunities with new or existing clients and maintain existing client relationships.
  • Liaise with Client Strategy and Support on the production of training materials.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications/Experience

  • Must be an experienced financial markets professional with an investment banking or fund management background and degree qualified (or equivalent).

The following skills/expertise would be advantageous:

  • Exposure to a broad range of credit segments (from SME, mid cap, to large corporates and multinationals), industry sectors, credit products (from traditional lending to structured debt transactions) and/or credit functions (analysis, origination, structuring).

  • Experience in related fields such as market, credit and operational risk management.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (spoken and written), and well versed with word processing and Microsoft Power Point.

  • Prior training experience would be highly desirable.

  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in one or several other  languages would be advantageous.

  • The position requires willingness and flexibility to travel overseas on a regular basis. (Occasionally assignments may be for periods of a number of weeks).
