Unilever Comms Manager -Corporate Brand / Employee Insigths
Location - London Blackfriars
Paying up to £43800, £3500 london allowance, up to 40% bonus and other corporate benefits

The business context is:
• the development of a new, fully aligned global communications function to support Unilever’s business ambition of doubling the size of the company while reducing the environmental imprint
• the development of a single, global communications strategy and plan
• increased interface and ‘joined-up thinking’ across Unilever brand, sustainability, marketing, communications and other relevant functions
• communications as part of Unilever’s annual planning cycle
• to implement the strategy of ‘inspiring advocacy through dialogue and action’ across all stakeholder groups to develop Unilever’s reputation as ‘a strong, growing, responsible company that engages me personally’
• a focus on four key themes to make Unilever famous: Business Performance; Brands & Innovation; Sustainable Living and Great Place, Great People
• measure the effectiveness of communications in building reputation of the Unilever brand
As part of the newly created global communications strategy, planning and message function,  this role will contribute to:
• developing and delivering an integrated communications planning capability based on a single global strategy
• the development of KPIs for global communications output and delivery against them
• ensuring that all activities and messages are phased and aligned within an agreed plan and timescale
• building a globally aligned team with a sense of common purpose

Key Accountabilities:
• To ensure internal communication to all Unilever employees is timely, effective and support the overarching business objectives, including employee engagement. It also means safeguarding all employees from information overload by coordinating messages and timing.
• To identify and segment internal audience according to agreed strategy based on an understanding of employee insight.  This will enable Unilever to pro-actively manage bundling of information, creating and driving an ‘editorial agenda’ for employee engagement.
• Inspire and motivate employees to act as ambassadors in building Unilever’s corporate reputation and linking the company with our brands.  Equip employees with tools to connect with consumers to raise awareness of Unilever and encourage use of our brands.
• Raise employee awareness and understanding of – and engagement in – the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.  Help employees to understand their role – both at work and at home – in driving the USLP into the business and contributing toward its success.
• Liaise with other groups including Media Relations and Government Relations to ensure internal and external messages on Unilever Brand and USLP are consistent and provide support to external communications initiatives as needed.
• Develop and manage company-sponsored employee community involvement events and fundraising.
• Evaluate and sharpen internal plan and vehicles to best meet the company’s objectives and colleagues’ communications needs.
• Work seamlessly with global Communication organisation to drive internal communications agenda throughout the organization and continuously improve internal communication processes across the organization.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

Essential:

• University degree
• Significant communications experience, including campaign work internally or externally
• History of effective agency/consultancy management
• Coaching and networking
• High standard of quality
• Business focused
• Cultural awareness

Desirable:

• Change Management experience is a plus
