Senior Director Operations Blackboard London

This role will be responsible both for the top line sales number, which is delivered from our G2M sales organizations and on the expense side, much of which is delivered through our Product Development organization. The business line treats the G2M (International and North America) as our channels, and this role will have direct responsibility to ensure that these channels are successful in their mission of renewing our existing business and selling new business. These range from coordinating our enablement of the sales team to ensuring consistent and successful communication to our channels.

On the product side, we have a responsibility to not only deliver existing products, but to invent new products, combine existing products into new offerings, and successfully partner with other organizations who provide complementary products. This requires you to be deeply knowledgeable of our entire product portfolio and our sales strategy for the various products. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, find innovative solutions for the broader market and presenting those solutions to the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with product managers, business line managers, product marketers and product development counterparts to take our products to market. You will work with clients and the global educational technology community to evangelize the Blackboard's vision for teaching and learning.

Specific responsibilities include:
Lead analysis and projects as delegated by the VP of Teaching and Learning that inform and drive key business decisions on product, partner, and services strategy and performance against the business strategy
Participate in the development of TL budgets and operating plans that support department and corporate goals.
Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for TL business.
Coordinate across our teaching and learning products to ensure that we can successfully take our products to market through our channels.
Combine our sales approach and our product planning approach to ensure that we can adequately “launch” products into the market at a global level.
Develop new products and solutions that span various existing products in the portfolio or other partnership opportunities.
Represent the sales team and the existing client base in our approach to the business.
Manage our T&L business analysis to ensure that we are analyzing the right aspects of our business and optimizing for success.
Coordinate cross product efficiencies
Drive critical internal processes at Blackboard that are required for product success (Budget, Enablement, Communication, Strategy)
Serve as proxy for VP of Teaching and Learning in internal Bb meetings and initiatives related to our Teaching and Learning Portfolio.
Serve as liaison between TL team and centralized Bb teams to drive alignment and synergies between TL, GTM and broader company.
Professional Qualifications

Required Skills:
8-10+ years of software support / software development / product management / software sales experience.
Knowledgeable in technology.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline such as information technology management, computer science, or engineering or relevant work experience.
Proven ability to engage effectively at a senior level in client organizations.
Strong communication skills that include oral, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Experience with Blackboard Learn, Moodle, and Collaborate is required
Fluency in English, additional languages preferred (Spanish, Portuguese, French)
This position requires travel to internal offices, conferences, as well as customer and non-customer sites globally (up to 30% of the year).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with training and/or instructional design, organizations and associations is a strong plus.
Language skills in languages other than English would be an advantage. Spanish a strong plus.
Master in business administration or equivalent master degree is a strong plus
