Job Description

Key activities/responsibilities

  • Drive contractual performance through monitoring and managing delivery across each of the three Work Programme CPAs, and the Welfare to Work business as a whole.
  • Lead, manage, coach and motivate contract teams and central operational resource to ensure company values, ethical standards, business vision, policies and procedures and contractual requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure relevant procedures and processes drive quality of delivery and exceed the Customers’ and the contracting bodies’ standards and expectations.
  • Build partnerships and align delivery with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to support and promote the delivery of welfare-to-work services across the CPAs. 
  • Monitor and oversee the financial control and status of each contract relating to targets and forecast earnings, taking corrective action and supporting the preparation of summary budgets to ensure efficient management of contracts, forecasts and budgetary parameters.
  • Participate in business development, as required, to maximise business opportunity in line with the Company’s Commercial Policy, ensuring operationally viable solutions are developed.
  • Negotiate national contracts with existing and prospective suppliers and subcontractors in line with company policy to enable effective and improved service delivery.
  • Lead the IT and data strategy for G4S Welfare to Work to ensure contractual requirements are met,
  • To promote the company as an industry thought leader.

Desired Skills & Experience

The candidate must: 
  • Have directed a national employment programme or government programme with a P&L of at least £10 million per annum.
  • A successful track record of delivering a government outsourced contract where KPI success was critical.
  • National operational experience in delivering and  a government-funded welfare-to-work contract or similar government-outsourced contract.
  • Be able to demonstrate success in leading £10 million + government outsourced contracts. [AA1] 
  • Must have experience of managing senior managers and operations delivery managers.
  • Have experience of meeting challenging contractual requirements, Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
  • Have managed at least 10 subcontractors to deliver the service.
  • Be able to work at a senior level with politicians, civil servants and other stakeholders.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and ensure that G4S continues to pioneer solutions within Work Programme delivery and the welfare-to-work sector.
