We are currently looking to recruit a Terminal Manager for Shell UK Oil Products Ltd in our Jarrow, Newcastle location.  The position sits within our Supply & Distribution (S&D) organisation and reports to our S&D Facilities Manager. Responsibilities:
Lead the local terminal team ensuring that the terminal are permanently in a fit-for-purpose condition, and deliver operational excellence in receipt, storage and loading of products, including maintenance, product quality compliance and stock/management controls.

To lead the team in order to establish a sustainable world-class operation of our assets, securing business continuity, meeting financial targets, operational excellence and QHSSE standards.
  • Inspire the terminal team, set direction and create a challenging and motivating work environment
  • Lead a step change in HSSE performance ensuring that Hearts & Minds concepts are widely and lively implemented. Acts as a role model for safe behaviours through visible commitment and safety walks.
Provide support to team and supervisors enabling them to operate safely, reliably and cost effectively, implementing new projects for plant modifications, according to the appropriate technical and operating standards.
Provide support to engineering and collaborate with consultants/specialists in the assigned major technical support areas. This includes design & project engineering, contracted services, equipment specification and selection, equipment maintenance and the implementation of new technology.

Ensure the proper and efficient operation of the Procurement function within the Distribution facilities with respect to the timely and cost effective procurement of engineering materials, equipment and services for the local organisation.

Responsible for the OPEX and CAPEX spend of the terminal.

Contribute to maintenance related analysis/reports for the terminal (i.e. Planned Maintenance, Breakdowns, and Maintenance Opex Performance).

Desired Skills & Experience

With a sound background in HSSE, operational experience in managing teams and PnL, you’ll be required to manage a team of five employees and you’ll have experience of interfacing with regulatory bodies. And you’ll have skills within two or more of the following areas; Distribution Planning & Exchanges, Product Handling & Control, Terminal Operations, Distribution Engineering & Technology, Depot Operations & Assets Management
Able to write clear and concise technical reports in English, you’ll possess a strong team spirit and a positive attitude towards knowledge sharing, flexible workload distribution and informal work consultation.
