The Position:
The Director of Finance, Population Health, will be the lead financial executive for a large growth segment within Aetna International. Critical success factors will be to impact results, identify opportunities, help drive new market share and work with management on the business strategy.
The post holder will have the additional responsibilities of managing the financial overview and control of the Indian Healthcare Organisation (IHO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aetna.
Furthermore, the postholder will be expected to participate actively in the financial modelling and oversight for responses to RFPs for large international government contracts.
We have an ambitious agenda of inorganic growth, and the postholder will be expected to identify and execute on large M&A transactions.
The post additionally comprises the oversight of compliance and regulatory oversight for all business matters within Population Health.
The post, while based in London, will attract considerable travel, mostly to the US, Middle East and China.
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide financial leadership for the development, implementation and oversight of a comprehensive business strategy.
Partner with management to build and support full P&L responsibility for the Population Health business, including IHO.
Participate actively in financial modelling, revenue recognition and internal agreements for responses to government and other tenders issued.
Evaluate and understand all dimensions of the P/L including revenue drivers, costs and administrative expenses.
Work with management to establish overall profitability targets at an aggregate and business unit level.
Influence and measure profitability and return on capital for the region, including helping to define strategic measures of profitability drivers.
Provide leadership to and own financial planning and forecasting for Population Health.
Participate in planning and controlling growth and evaluating segment performance through:
? target setting of financial objectives
? operational planning and review
? metrics and financial measures
? integrity of financial reporting
? measurement of significant financial exposures and risks
? initiating actions and recommending changes to reach strategic and financial goals
? financial accounting and reporting
? internal management and appropriate regulatory reports

? Balance Sheet Management
Ensure the Population Health financial strategy is aligned with overall Enterprise financial strategy.
Evaluate compensation strategy and arrangements for affordability, and appropriateness.
Provide financial oversight of all products of business; reports and manages financial performance to targets.
Ensure cross-functional co-operation / synergy at all appropriate levels of the organization.
Professional Qualifications:
10 years managing diverse financial functions
Experience in a multi-national company is highly preferred
M&A financing experience
Previously held senior financial positions where ability to develop and execute business and financial strategy has been demonstrated
Experience in responding to tenders, especially in financial modelling to maximize revenue and earnings
Personal Attributes:

Education:
An undergraduate degree is required. An advanced degree such as a MBA, CPA, or FSA would be highly desirable.
