Role Overview:
IGD has achieved impressive commercial results by focusing effort on a targeted set of customers. International accounts a growing share of sales and has been a significant driver of growth; IGD now has customers in over 40 countries.
The director of global customers will lead and shape IGD’s international commercial activity. This will primarily focus on selling online services, notably Retail Analysis, to international brand manufacturers and retailers. It will involve senior-level (including CEO) engagement, significant direct commercial responsibility, line management and strategic planning and development. We need an energetic individual with international experience, who thrives in a commercial environment.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
Managing a portfolio of some of our largest global customers, driving engagement, retention and growth
Extensive travel (typically two weeks out of every four/five) to meet customers at the most senior level (including CEOs), understanding their needs and outlining appropriate IGD solutions
Engaging new prospects for the first time
Delivering monthly and annual targets for sales of our online services
Working closely with our research experts to sell IGD’s total capability, generating leads for customised projects
Delivering first class customer service and ensuring a constant stream of insightful feedback
Leading and motivating the global customer team
Longer-term strategic planning and development
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills, knowledge and experience:
Suitable candidates are likely to come from two main sources:

- Experience of working with the international FMCG community, with direct customer management responsibility;
- Experience of working within an international sales / business development role in a leading insight or marketing agency;

Responsible for managing assigned accounts and delivering targeted new business, you will have a strong customer focus, proven success in developing customer relationships that reap tangible financial benefits. Previous experience in line management is a pre-requisite, as is exposure to directing the overall strategy of your business / business unit.

You’ll demonstrate strong commercial acumen in all of your actions, and be accustomed to working effectively as part of a wider commercial team.
