The focus of the IWM’s activities is on Private Wealth Management, the Morgan Stanley services provides comprehensive wealth management solutions to UHNW individuals, families and foundations that control significant pools of wealth. Other activities of Morgan Stanley include institutional services such as the sale of equities and fixed income securities and related derivatives, and also traditional investment banking services which are housed in Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc. London and Bank Morgan Stanley AG (Switzerland: Zurich/Geneva)

The Client Analysis and Solutions Team seeks to hire an Executive Director to join them. This team has a flexible and broad scope of activities, concentrated on designing bespoke tailored portfolio solutions for individual clients. The team is responsible for developing quantitative models to correctly analyse client's financial situation as well as construct the optimal portfolio for our clients. The models that are currently being developed are the leading-edge of Quantitative Finance, utilising sophisticated tools to design solutions that incorporate: Asset/Liability Matching, Tax Issues, Liquidity Constraints, Inflation Exposure, and other important characteristics. One special focus for this is integrating Alternative Investments (such as Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and other more exotic items) in to a Client Solution

ROLE DESCRIPTION (including tasks):
The individual will source, vet and monitor the best-in-class internal/external investment products that can be sold to IWM clients internationally.
• Built and manage a team of investment specialists to deliver investment solutions for the discretionary portfolio managers across all asset classes in tax efficient structures and open architecture platforms
• The individual will be responsible for creation and the implementation and management of discretionary model portfolios of funds and ETFs.
• Develops and drives product strategy for IWM working closely with Sales, CIO and global colleagues
• Manage new products from manager selection and due diligence through to marketing, ensuring compliance with all internal, risk and regulatory requirements
• Member of the BMSAG Investment Comittee
• Sits on the International Due Diligence risk committees
• Heads all product marketing processes and chairs the weekly sales forum for product providers and sales to present and exchange product ideas and themes
• Created and runs the Private Investment Club (PIC) for UHNW investors to invest in co-investment and Investment Banking opportunities. Deals range from partnerships in luxury fashion brands to prime location boutique hotels. Due to success in EMEA, US and Asia subsequently developed regional offerings
• Created Strategic Lead Management platform and delivered a platform for cross-divisional client referrals between IBD and PWM. Part of a global group that generated over $50mm in revenue in 2012
• Key responsibilities include providing guidance on portfolio construction and risk management for advisory mandates as well as assisting PWM advisors in their sales efforts, when necessary.

Skills Required


Client Analysis and Solutions Team is responsible for the support of the IWM departments in Switzerland. They must have analytical skills and be able to interpret financial transactions and market events in a timely manner and translate them into advice and help.
• FSA qualified, preferred but not essential
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to speak additional European languages will be an added advantage
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment requiring an aptitude for multi tasking, juggling between the demands of the capital markets and the need for market risks and regulatory requirements
• The candidate should have a minimum of 5 – 10 years of relevant experience working in in a similar capacity; sales, advisory and trading experience with either institutional or private wealth clientele would be of advantage
• The candidate should have experience with all aspects of securities trading, especially in the area of funds, hedge funds and private equity as well as due diligence performed on those securities
• The candidate must be a team player with careful attention to detail and a willingness to support other divisions who call upon his expertise. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and yet collaboratively with co-workers
• Strong time management/prioritization skills and solid judgment
• Proven administrative skills
