Job description
Purpose: The role holder will support the Strategy & Finance VP with strategic planning for the global and regional Community Investment (CI) teams and with communications execution globally.

Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)

Strategic planning and development:
Partner with Strategy & Finance VP to create and drive strategy and priorities for Global CI and translate into results-oriented action plans
Collaborate with CI colleagues globally to enhance and standardise existing processes and programme delivery to ensure a consistent, high quality CI approach
Facilitate open dialogue and collaboration between all regions and maintain an overview of best practices which can be shared with all regions to drive consistent and efficient (as well as innovative practices)
Prepare Global Investment Committee quarterly meeting materials, liaising with regions and Head Office team
Collaborate with Finance and Reporting Assistant Vice President to provide data necessary for CI senior leadership team to make strategic decisions
Deliver and maintain the Global CI Investments Guideline document and communicate/distribute to all regions
Deliver documentation for strategic planning, governance, policies and procedures, finance, reporting, and measurement and evaluation objectives and processes
Provide templates, tools and technology solutions (e.g. PowerPoint decks/slides, marketing docs):
To standardise processes carried out in all regions
To educate stakeholders in all regions on Community Investment strategy, Citizenship vs. Community Investment, investment priorities etc.
For the Global Investment Committees and all Regional Investment Committee meetings
For Global Programmes and Employee Programmes teams
Deliver global grant application and sanctions templates and report to evaluate potential charity partners (which also includes the Measurement and Evaluation framework).

Communications:
Manage and execute CI communications strategy and activity, including creating tools to support the standardization and consistency of communicating the Community Investment strategy and investment pillars globally
n partnership with the Strategy & Finance VP, plan and execute the delivery of the CI Summit to engage CI staff and deliver a consistent CI programme globally
Gather and draft CI online communications, including use of and content on barclays.com, Facebook and other new social media channels
Lead CI contribution for all narrative and case studies related to internal and external reporting/indices (e.g. Annual Report, Citizenship Report, etc.) and awards. Collaborate closely with Finance & Reporting AVP to ensure that narrative/ commentary reflects data accurately
Coordinate and draft CI information and language for application of external awards entries

Team development:
Share best practice and learning with colleagues and seek continuous improvement opportunities, maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant, up-to-date technical knowledge
Work with team to develop a better understanding of the business divisions and their priorities to tie in with team initiatives
Act as an advocate and role model in embedding Barclays’ values and behaviours
Work collaboratively with colleagues to help create a highly effective function, demonstrating ‘one team’ behaviours and fostering a positive working environment
Provide exceptional stakeholder support that builds trust in the working relationship, confidence in our expertise, and a positive reputation for the wider function

Essential/Basic Qualifications
Location: London based
Full Time/ Part Time: Full Time
Experience in Investment Banking or Research preferred
Excellent research, analytical and project management skills
Autonomous, results-oriented self-starter with a strong attention to detail and follow through. Ability to produce work to a very high degree of accuracy and to short deadlines
Collaborative and ability to build strong working relationships and manage projects across multiple functions, regions and businesses
Demonstrable commercial acumen and impressive business knowledge; strong understanding of financial services industry
Strong strategy development experience, combined with excellent execution skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor according to stakeholder audience and media
Strong communicator with experience in a communications discipline (internal communications, PR, marketing) or as a key responsibility of a related role
Ability to identify relevant and compelling communications content that will resonate with various audience(s)
Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
Excellent understanding and knowledge of Barclays citizenship and Community Investment strategy and priorities, as well the not-for-profit sector more broadly
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Resourceful and enthusiastic team player
Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure
Ability to interact with and manage senior stakeholders
Experience in a global role
