Commercial Director - Oracle - London
Job description
The Commercial Director is a key role, working alongside the existing sales team to provide commercial expertise in the development, negotiation and completion of Oracle Licence sales opportunities in the UK and Ireland regions. This role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager for Oracle Technology software.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as a member of sales teams
Develops pricing strategies, business cases and compelling sales proposals for/with licence sales
Supports and, where appropriate, leads commercial negotiations with customers
Works closely with Legal, Approvals and Contracts functions
Advises sales management on commercial issues
Delivers presentations on commercial issues to sales personnel
Investigates and develops new sales strategies
Identifies and communicates optimal practices
Acts as a centre of expertise on licensing
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Experience of and comfortable in dealing with CIO/CFO level customers
Sound knowledge of accounting practices and investment criteria
Working knowledge of English commercial law and specific knowledge of contract law with respect to IT
Sound knowledge of software licensing models and contracts
Proven ability to create and execute challenging and compelling business cases
Sophisticated at dealing with conflict in a constructive manner
10+ years negotiating experience
Good communication skills
Education to graduate level or equivalent
ADVANTAGE
Sound knowledge of Oracle’s sales and commercial policies
Working knowledge of US Software Revenue Recognition rules
