Director HVDC Operations ALSTOM Stafford

Job Description:
The role of HVDC Operations Director is to ensure projects are delivered to the required standard of quality by recruiting, motivating and managing Project Managers, Project Engineers & other operations teams. Working with the HVDC UMD, you will ensure projects follow PMH processes, dealing with Risk, Time, Cost, EHS & Quality, HR, Communication & Contract management.

Main duties and responsibilities will include;
Identifying required level of skilled resources via departmental/business workload resource plans
Monitoring the work completed and work to be done to ensure that it is realistic and within capability
Ensuring training is undertaken to ensure level of competence is available
Understanding the contract and ensure that it is executed correctly
Ensuring that the project is delivered to programme & cost
Maximising all margin improvement opportunities
Re-estimate cost-to-complete on monthly basis
Managing suppliers
Pro-actively identify possible cost increases and cost reductions and implement means of mitigation
Working in conjunction with the department managers to ensure that the correct level of competent resources are being made available
Ensuring analysis is carried out and documented

HVDC Operations Director requirements;
Certified Engineer with extensive experience in Project Management
Experience of managing complex multi-supplier/partner programmes and multi-disciplinary teams
Knowledge of HVDC
