Director Programming Nickelodeon Camden

Job Description:
You will truly understand the vision for the channel and be a Brand Ambassador for Nickelodeon UK.
Communication will be key in this role as you will be liaising with our International teams as well as developing strong relationships internally and externally.
You will work closely with our MD to improve and continually evaluate the programme strategy across the network and source new content and partnerships to ensure that all Nickelodeon channels have a competitive edge.

You will also work alongside the VP, Commercial Director in any local acquisitions deals, securing all needed multi-platform rights.



You will work with the Research team to ensure that audience figures are reflected in the schedules so you will have a proven track record in Scheduling & Channel Planning to drive ratings improvement.



A strong knowledge and understanding of content rights will be required as you be responsible for ensuring that all scheduled programmes comply with OFCOM broadcast standards.



You will have excellent leadership skills as you will manage the Programming and Digital teams, ensuring that all of your reports are being developed within their roles and that a succession plan is in place for the department.



You will be a strategic and analytical thinker, with the confidence to make decisions and consistently deliver to the highest standard.

What you’ll be doing:

Key member of the Nick UK Management team, participating in the creation of business plans
Management of the team – department responsibilities as detailed below
Management of the content budget
Working with the MD to improve and continually evaluate the programme strategy across the network
Deliver on ratings forecasts
Responsible for developing & executing strong & competitive schedules across the Nick UK linear channels and multi-platforms
Working with Research to ensure the audience ratings and research are reflected in the schedules and channel plans and gaining insights into our audience
Responsible for ensuring that all scheduled programmes comply with OFCOM broadcast standards
Working closely with the SVP, Head of International Production & Development, on international and local commissioning and on pre-buys
Source new content, proactively engaging with producers and distributors to ensure successful partnerships and competitive edge
Contact with international distributors, responding in a timely manner, communicating brand values and needs of Nickelodeon UK
Key member of the IPC, working closely with international colleagues
Liaise with International programming team to coordinate global launches and series rollouts as well as support corporate priorities like theatrical releases and global CP rollouts
Working closely with the VP, Commercial Director in any local acquisitions deals, securing all needed multi-platform rights
Working with the Creative Director to define on air materials
Develop an effective working relationship with counterparts in the US and across VIMN
Represent and act as an ambassador for Nickelodeon UK in the local and international marketplaces
Desired Skills and Experience
You will have:

Proven track record in Scheduling & Channel Planning to drive ratings improvement
Strong editorial point of view
Clear understanding of overall content rights
Strong strategic and analytical skills – an ability to create a successful programming strategy
Strong managerial and leadership qualities, ability to leverage the best results from the department including outsourced areas

You will be:

Confident in approach and able to coordinate and communicate across many departments and individuals on a daily basis

Nice to have:

Experience in Kids TV would be helpful but not essential
