Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Finance individual who has negotiated client contracts, and demonstrated strong understanding of the impact and relationship of contractual terms and requirements on all aspects of client job cycle; setup, budget/cost management, billing and reporting. Individual must have proven track record of leading teams, and implementing policies that save time and money for the organisation.
The key focus of this role is to serve the UK office on commercial & financial leadership of existing and new business clients, including client procurement contact, SOW development, rates and contract negotiation, across the UK office’s client portfolio. This is predominantly made-up of European clients, some Global, and some UK-only.
As needed and guided by the Global commercial team, same as above for any key client relationships with RoW/GBM
Lead a Commercial/Client team within OHWUK, overseeing the commercial and financial relationship with all key clients. Working closely alongside client leaders and account handlers.
Provide full support on financial matters and contractual compliance.
Part of the role involves work for the Global CFO and with the US Commercial Team to develop our worldwide commercial approach to client negotiations and relationships

Lead commercial contact for all key UK (plus as needed EMEA/Row/GBM) client relationships
Partner with US counterpart on major global relationships
Oversee the development and upskilling of a UK-based client finance/commercial team, to support in the management of these relationships and financial organisation
Provide suggestions and support to client teams to drive more profitable behaviour
Provide guidance and support in remuneration negotiations
Help make informed staffing decisions, particularly through the use of utilisation and billability information
Review client contracts before, during and after negotiation with clients
Ensure knowledge and compliance with contracts on existing business
Provide guidance on the commercial terms contained in new business submissions
Use reports to highlight persistently bad job reconciliation and profit destroying behaviour
Key Skills
Previous client finance experience essential
Experience of client negotiations required – particularly procurement
Ability to partner with and collaborate with senior management
Ability to provide source of independent and impartial opinion
Ability to provide direction and structure to the teams/markets
Knowledge of common Scope of Work issues, utilization/productivity etc (work within the OCH resource model)
Verbal & written communication must be of high standard
Strong analytical skills, numerate and good attention to detail
Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Recognised accountancy qualifications preferable

Ability to interact directly with senior clients
Ability to build good relationships with markets and clients
Strong leadership skills to develop team of client/commercial experts
Ideally, strong understanding of Ogilvy/WPP network and operations, and GBM structures
Confident, personable and communicative team player

In a Complex Matrix Structure Such As OCHWW/OHW, The Reporting And Partnering Structure For This Role Will Involve Several Key Stakeholders, In The Following Order
Ultimately the Role reports to the UK CEO, who has overall responsibility for the UK business and client-base
On a day-day basis, the Role will integrate as part of OHW’s financial team and report on daily operational issues to the UK FD on all client-finance related matters, reporting and escalating upwards to the CEO when appropriate
The Role will have a dotted-line report to the Global CFO.
