Job Description:
Reuters Breakingviews, the world's leading financial commentary publication, is looking for an energetic and experienced Commercial Director based in London or New York to help lead its global commercial efforts, encompassing subscription sales, advertising and sponsorship, syndication and live events. This is a rare opportunity to take a high-level role at Thomson Reuters' agenda-setting financial opinion brand.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, execute and manage account plans for the top investment banks, hedge funds, investment institutions, law firms, public-relations advisers and corporations to drive incremental revenue and ensure retention.
Recruit and lead an efficient global sales team to deliver against revenue targets and identify growth opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships within client organizations at the decision-maker and execution levels; present a consistent Reuters image of professionalism, timeliness and accountability to those clients; build high levels of client satisfaction; execute and deliver proper client agreements (contracts).
Work closely with the Breakingviews editorial leadership to identify opportunities to profitably grow readership, spearhead product innovation and enhance the publication's position as a thought leader.
Ensure appropriate customer satisfaction levels for assigned clients, including proactive account maintenance, usage analysis, timely billing and invoicing.
Maintain accurate and updated account summaries and meeting reports. Must be able to adapt to the incorporation and utilization of new tools, yield management, behavioral targeting, rich media, etc.
Compile detailed and accurate sales forecasts for presentation.
Essential
Extensive sales experience, at a high-caliber financial information business.
Passionate, engaged, committed student of the financial industry.
Strong account planning and execution.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining successful relationships.
Experience leading sales teams.
Ability to present articulately and passionately about Reuters Breakingviews offerings and special assets.
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
Minimum BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
