Job Description:
Procurement Director Global Specialty Classic & Established Franchises is a role operating in a highly complex, competitive environment. To support the business growth, this role has been created to manage and influence stakeholders enterprise-wide to become advocates of Production Procurement and secure credibility through demonstrated delivery and win-win partnerships, securing a competitive advantage for GSK in a highly competitive environment. This role will be accountable for ensuring the sourcing strategies, developed by category Team is in line with the strategic ambitions globally relevant for GSK. Additionally the role also demands strong leadership to drive step change improvement in executing of category projects.
Partner and align with the Category / Commodity Teams to define business requirements for a world class supply base for provision of high quality goods and services able to:
•Support the delivery of aggressive commercial growth
•Support market access through strategic supplier sourcing
•Contribute to product pipeline through supplier sourced innovation
•Improve cost and margin via Portfolio Optimization, Gross margin improvement etc

•Develop Communication plan to engage with Production Procurement to ensure robust launches – develop WOW in line of the new Product procurement Global Organization

•Source new and novel raw materials / components for new product launches. Responsible for issue management working with appropriate teams for issues that may arise during product launches e.g. supply constraints, material quality issues, etc...

•Partner with R&D, External Innovation teams on understanding Innovation needs. Work closely with Commodity Teams to generate Innovation ideas from the supplier base in line with the R&D needs.

•Ensure smooth handover between NPI managers and Regional Procurement Teams for line extension – optimize the deployment of Procurement Excellence and de-risking programme (Design to De-risk) through the launch of new products

•Accountable for partnering with Commodity teams to create 1st Intent strategies (including list) and responsible communicating and ensuring adherence to 1st Intent strategies for R&D teams

•Work with other managers to share best practice across Categories / Franchisees

•Influence Supply Chain and commercial stakeholders to become advocates of Production Procurement and secure credibility through demonstrated delivery and win-win partnerships

Basic qualifications:

•University Qualified
•Experience in facilitating groups of individuals to create solutions and delivering continuous improvement programmes
•Credible and recognised Procurement leader with Procurement or Materials Management experience gained in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or FMCG Environment.
•Highly developed commercial acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a competitive commercial advantage. Successful multi-year track record in delivering year on year savings in a challenging economic climate.
•Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at management level.
•Skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations at management level with both external and internal stakeholders
•Expertise in delivering change programmes to switch supply base to achieve lower cost whilst retaining secure supply.
•Expertise in manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
•Project and Change management experience with strong leadership and team development
•Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations
•Ability to speak the language of R&D/Commercial/SC at different level of the organization (vice president,

•Close business relationships forged with specialised supplier network

•Ensure effective communication and relationship development with R & D teams, commercial and procurement personnel, business stakeholders and the supply base.
