Job Description:
The Director of Retail Europe is responsible for the achievement of the Europe retail business, developing and overseeing key initiatives and divisional goals. This includes demonstrating a mastery of lifestyle branding and the effective management of both direct and dotted line responsibility for all functional areas. Inherent in this assignment is responsibility for meeting strategic goals and challenges of Kate Spade and LCI.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategic plan for the management and growth of the retail division.
Develop and execute a strategic plan that achieves divisional goals and supports Kate Spade’s and LCI’s corporate goals.
Collaborate with the Division’s Group SVP and others to create a strategic vision for the business within the context of Kate Spade’s vision and strategy.
Focus the Division on the critical objectives, especially in times of ambiguity and change.
Create and execute action plans to address critical path opportunities as they develop.
Ensure that measurements, systems, and processes exist to regularly assess performance against plan, institute timely responses to problems and opportunities, and provide meaningful information to corporate management.
Provide leadership in support of Sales and Business Planning negotiations in the development of Retail plans that satisfy Divisional growth and profit objectives.
Assess, coach, support, develop and, if necessary, replace senior managers of the division to ensure disciplined, effective day to day management of the Division operations in accordance with agreed deadlines.
Ensure that associates in your businesses are empowered with the knowledge, tools, skills, motivation, clearly articulated standards, and encouragement to continually improve their performance in line with business objectives, customer expectations and consumer value.
Foster collaboration within the Corporation in all efforts that impact corporate image, vision, and objectives. Set a personal example for collaboration and empowerment within your management team.
Ensure the development of bench strength to fill all critical position openings.
Participate in and support, internally and externally, corporate policies, programs and initiatives.
Ensure that the aesthetic, responsiveness and value of each of your products and services meets or exceeds the consumer’s and the customer’s expectations.
Create an environment of creativity and self-improvement for yourself and your associates.
Functional Responsibilities:
Retail executive responsible for managing all aspects of retail business; overseeing execution of key initiatives for product assortment, visual merchandising, store operations, etc.
Enhance retail environments through continuous merchandising innovation and by championing and executing refurbishment and fixturing, adherence to visual merchandising standards, etc.
Business measurements; traffic, conversion, units per transaction; sales vs, plan, gross margin, etc.
Attract, train, motivate and retain talent in both the corporate office and retail field
Complete p&l responsibility for entire retail division
Coordinate public relations and advertising retail initiatives with the pr and creative services departments as well as special events
Execution of new store openings; manage new store rollout; oversee budgeting, merchandise assortment and final execution of completed project.

previous year-over-year accountability for delivering profitability targets and results for a complex business
excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in working with multiple cultures and languages, must be culturally sophisticated and sensitive
planner and forward thinker with expertise in building and executing operational strategy
strong leadership skills with proven ability to attract, develop, and retain talent
strong organizational skills and attention to detail
excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to develop effective relationships
adaptable and able to quickly impact and drive results in a fast-paced environment
ability to prioritize workloads and manage time effectively
analytical and system savvy with excellent knowledge of Microsoft office
