Job Description:
A Brand Senior Account Director will manage senior client relationships and provide senior level counsel. Experience of working with PR and other supporting marketing communications techniques is required, as is a firm understanding of the importance of storytelling with brands. This role includes the provision of strategic insight to client accounts.
A curious mind, strong analytical skills, problem solving capabilities and a passion for the industry are all highly beneficial. Commercial skills and understanding are required, along with networking skills and a Senior Account Director needs to demonstrate a firm passion for business growth, whether organic or unearthing new prospects. Outstanding client management skills, the ability to remain calm and level-headed, including in a crisis is key
PR Skills
Provide and contribute strategic insight, guidance and creativity to meet client’s requirements.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key media, influencers, third parties and Ketchum colleagues to provide appropriate skills and input to programmes and activities.
Write plans, proposals, strategy documents, global and pan European toolkits, Q&A’s, key messages, issues guidance and newsletters together with briefing documents. Coach and support team to develop their writing skills and capabilities. Provide editing and quality control to all team documents, ensuring they are on brief and technically and grammatically correct.
Take active and confident role in loop teams, ensure strong understanding of and help drive PR’s role in the marketing mix, where relevant.
Continuously update and maintain understanding and knowledge of the media and market in which client’s operate. Share and drive within team.
Run/actively participate in creative brainstorm sessions, share new ideas and support and encourage colleagues.
Client Service
Project manage client events and programmes. Keep in regular contact with the client and the team to incorporate feedback.
Plan and initiate programme of evaluation for all activity and use results to drive through continuous improvement.
Drive the highest quality standards for all client deliverables. Guide and provide input to team.
Look for opportunities for the team to develop relationships across the range of client contacts. Coordinate efforts in line with overall plan of activity as set out by Associate Director/Director/Practice Group Director.
Look for opportunities to enhance client relationships and grow business. Present to Associate Director/Director/Practice Group Director and incorporate into quarterly and six monthly reviews.
Determine and drive programme of client contact, ensuring participation of senior colleagues to provide added value and insight to client’s needs.
Champion the importance of client satisfaction and service with team. Lead by example and encourage positive client relationship building behaviours.
Commercial Management
Manage specific client fees and budgets. Oversee all billing and purchase order activity to ensure profit targets and finance timelines and reporting requirements are met.
Contribute to annual financial planning and ongoing financial updates as projects or activities demand.
With Associate Director/Director/Practice Group Director, monitor client budgets and review performance indicators to identify opportunities to reduce over servicing. Manage effective staffing for budget. Communicate hours per client and activity to team.
Develop fee forecasting and programme phasing.
Contribute to year end and campaign reconciliations. Work closely with accounts team.
Provide information and fee schedules and forecasts to Finance in line with reporting timetables. Communicate any changes to fee schedules, positive or negative
Team Work And Team Leadership
Hold regular team meetings and share client and company information to keep team informed and engaged. Use team meetings as an opportunity to share knowledge.
Provide counsel and guidance to wider team and department.
Plan and prioritise work with team to ensure completion according to client requirements and deadlines.
Complete performance reviews, objective setting and career and development planning for direct reports. Act on results and outputs.
Work with other members of the senior team and support the Managing Director to manage department with a view to managing overall staff and retention issues.
Conduct interviews for prospective candidates at Ketchum, using Ketchum’s recruitment process to enhance the reputation of Ketchum.
Plan and support learning and development to meet existing and future career and skill requirements.
Act as a coach and provide regular feedback to individuals and the team.
Business Development
Participate in new business activity, write compelling proposals and present with energy and passion.
Encourage team to contribute to and participate in new business activity including research, brainstorms, making client contact and presenting, as appropriate.
Proactively identify and drive opportunities to grow and expand our work with existing clients.
Work to cross-sell capabilities to drive business opportunities.
Contribute to the development and updating of case studies and other credentials materials.
Digital Expertise
Identify digital opportunities with clients and connect with the specialised Digital Team where required
Understand the main digital platforms and how to deploy effective content through them
Generate and manage content on the behalf of Clients for social platforms
Develop and drive on-going digital campaigns
