Corporate Actions Director BlackRock Edinburgh

This is a newly created Director role based in Edinburgh reporting to the EMEA Head of Corporate Actions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Heads of Corporate Actions in EMEA, APAC and the US and will be part of the global senior management team responsible for the development and implementation of Corporate Action strategy and governance of operational processes. In addition to being part of the senior team, this role will have specific global responsibility for strategic counterparty relationships, operating metrics and the risk and control environment as defined by the Corporate Action and Investment Operations management team. The role involves the development and coordination of BlackRock’s strategic Corporate Actions provider management agenda and ensuring appropriate engagement with providers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with Corporate Actions functional managers to mitigate risk and promote efficiency in BlackRock's processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with Corporate Actions functional managers to define an optimum provider service model to drive standardisation and consistency in provider Corporate Actions product.
Develop and apply appropriate KPIs and KRIs to hold providers accountable for the quality and delivery of their product.
Understand, measure and record the impact of provider service on the BlackRock Corporate Action process.
Represent Corporate Actions in regular provider service review meetings.
Build and maintain constructive relationships with key contacts at providers.
Serve as a global escalation point for provider issues to ensure risk is controlled, documented, and mitigation consistently implemented across the Global Corporate Actions team.
Own and enhance comprehensive reporting and metrics for management oversight of the BlackRock Corporate Actions process.
Work with global Corporate Action managers to identify best practice in BlackRock's processes and drive consistency of process across locations and create tracking logic to monitor efficiencies across all Corporate Action functions.
Serve as global coordinator for risk situations, and ensure risk mitigation is properly controlled, documented, and consistently implemented across the Global Corporate Actions team.
Participate in local, regional and global initiatives and projects
Provide regional management support and coverage for functional teams as required
Participate in the development and implementation of Corporate Actions strategy
Maintain awareness of industry developments and how they impact BlackRock

Knowledge/Experience:

Experience in a senior Provider Management, Risk Management or Corporate Action role with a strong understanding of financial markets and investment management.
Proven ability to work constructively with external entities and influence them to achieve desired results
Possess a high level of self- motivation and adaptability.
