We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to design and deliver a unified roadmap for Sainsbury’s portfolio of Colleagues Finance products across all of Sainsbury’s Finance Department. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll define and deliver the strategy, and also develop relationships with other colleagues and suppliers to create a pipeline of innovation that drives our business forward.

Spread across areas such as Group Finance, Commercial & Retail Finance, and Property Finance, your portfolio will be made up of technologies across the full spectrum of Finance products including Transaction Processing, Tracking & Management, Payments, Cash Management, and General & Stock Accounting.
What I need to do
Work with the Senior Finance stakeholders across Sainsbury’s to develop a technology roadmap for Finance that supports the overall Finance vision and strategy
Build, lead, manage and coach a team of Product Owners
Work alongside your product owners, senior architects, and the heads of development, delivery and operations to design and deliver services our colleagues love and value
Support and determine the capital investment planning process and build investment cases for products within your portfolio
Manage the capital projects within your portfolio to execute to the defined roadmap
Be accountable for the end to end delivery and operation of all products within your portfolio
Deliver the agreed ROI for products within your portfolio
Continuous engagement of senior stakeholders across functional business teams, winning their hearts and minds and providing digital product leadership for colleagues
Define the corporate product and technology strategy, alongside your Head of Technology
Support the execution of our Digital & Technology strategy
What I need to know
BA/BSc degree or equivalent practical experience (MBA or consulting background preferable)
In depth knowledge of finance departments and their key activities
In depth accounting knowledge (stock accounting very advantageous)
A track record of delivering transformational cross-functional Finance projects e.g. Payroll and Payments
Excellent record of developing and maintaining Finance Applications (Product) Roadmap
A track record of managing senior stakeholders in a complex matrix environment and strong examples of clear and concise communication
A strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies
Experience of recruiting, leading and managing a team
Knowledge and experience of the retail and technology industries preferable
